Oh, I'm sure by the time 1JD comes back around, I'll have fully bought-in on whoever the QB is.

Just still hoping that's Carr or Rodgers.

You said he’s done it over the years. Who else?

NFL players don’t get mad at other players for that stuff. They want to see each other get paid.

I didn't say NFL players get mad at others for that, I said Rodgers pushed out good players by being a dickhead. That was a great example. He was a dickhead all last offseason and ending up pushing out his best reciever!

Im sure there were other examples over the years, it can't be a coincidence that Green Bay wasnt able sign any decent free agents and I know Zadarius Smith was happy to leave Rodgers and he is a beast on defense

Look…there’s a lot of shall we say quirkiness with him. He’s been a me first guy when it comes to getting paid…not one to take a little less to be able to sign other guys…he’s the one setting the QB market when he can…but that’s the game so it is what it is. But the annual will he won’t he retire drama I’m not looking forward to if he comes here.

that being said, he’s the best QB that may be available to us and would at least put us in the division conversation…we’ll have to go through some combo of Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert (who’s not quite at that level yet), Lamar (also maybe not quite there but close)…the AFC has a lot of great young QBs. Rodgers gives us the best chance to compete with them, even if only for a couple of years…

The only QB who has notably ever taken less to build out the roster is Brady. So that’s not a knock on Rodgers to get paid.

There is no doubt that AR is the best QB. However, as others have stated, including myself, do we want the annual drama..and will it be worse here with the media scrutiny? The wild card is Woody! If the reports are true about this weekends meeting and if Woody is dead set on AR, then AR it will be, irrespective of compensation (draft/$).

My hope is that Woody allows the process to play out, and frankly I am hoping AR stays in GB, not because I don't want him, I just don't want the drama or the loss of draft capital when there are so many holes to fill. Of course, what I think and want do not matter one iota (Smile).

Thank you! I'm getting tired of the extreme bickering. People slander Carr because he's not Rodgers and slander Rodgers because he's a narcissist and a weirdo. I'm happy with either of these guys over Zach Wilson next year.

I see it as win/win. Some folks REALLY hate Carr, and I don't get it. Yeah he's uber religious, but as long as he's using his brain rather than faith on the field, it doesn't bother me.

I have to call BS on that though. Rodgers was under contract. He held out for more money

Away from sports news a few days now. Any word on when he will get out of his retreat?

No telling. If it's pitch black in there he may not be able to find the door.

Interesting quote here from Pelissero on The Rich Eisen Show.

Even though Rodgers does not have a no-trade clause, he essentially has veto power due to his contract and the threat of retirement, so he COULD effectively choose the situation he wants to go to which would lower the market/return for him.

If we're getting Rodgers for pennies on the dollar, I'd absolutely rather have him for a season or two than Derek Carr.

Here's the full Pelissero segment on Rich's show. Little long (7:29) but some decent info.

I’m so over the Rodgers bullshit. Just sign Carr.

I'm hoping that Rodgers comes out of his darkness retreat in the next day or so. Once that happens everyone will have more clarity on what's going on with him which should give the Jets a clear direction on how to proceed.

I feel like by the weekend, we'll have a much better idea on who the Jets are targeting as their #1 option.

This is me too. Rodgers is the better option and with Carr appearing in no hurry it seems as if we will have ample opportunity to weigh our options. Carr is going to go where he wants to, it's not like we are his unquestioned first choice, there is no fuck Rodgers sign Carr option so some need to get off that narrative. Hopefully we have some clarity by this weekend.

It’s a fair point but that got a lot better later in the season. Two of those clips are from one loss on opening day against the Vikings.

I don't buy it. Some team will have to give up high round picks to get him regardless. Definitely a 1st at the minimum and most likely more than that. Just because he can pick and choose where he wants to play doesn't diminish the trade return that the Packers will be expecting for him. Two entirely separate talking points. The market has been set so many times for players of less desirability than Rodgers. Any thoughts of getting him will require significant draft capital in return.
