Good Lord. Seems to me we are starting to throw $$$ value and years of contract around like is gospel without any links or references or the minimum insight as to what is really going on? The QB market is heating up with limited options, no doubt, so contracts will be be a little higher than the norm, but there is no way IMO, JD is going to way overpay for Carr at the $50M range. None.
For additional perspective, if we had scored 26 points in every game this year, we would've gone 14-3. If we had scored 23 PPG (LV's PPG was 23.2), we would've gone 12-4-1.
If we would have had Carr throwing to Devonte Adams we would have been way better this year. If GB had Rodgers throwing to Devonte Adams they would have been way better this year. If all the top players were on the Jets we would have been superbowl champs.
I think, all things considered, he's our best option considering his skill level, age, and cost. Rodgers is obviously better but he's also 7 years older, plus we'd have to give up trade assets to get him. With Rodgers our window is these next two seasons. With Carr it's 5+
If Carr wants to come here, then I would sign him unless it is clear Rodgers want to come here. In 2011 the Jets chased Asomougha during the free agency and never got him and missed out on many other players. Can't make that same mistake again.
This, also Rodgers hasn't given any indication strong enough that he wants to come here. Not having to give up picks is huge too. Douglas has been superb with drafting outside of Wilson so I would hate to see us lose picks.
Don't let him leave the building. Then we can get the stud Georgia OL at 13 and be well on our way. Be bold Jets!

This is just fluff. He only made the trip because he’s trying to booster his own price. If they decide they like him make one offer if he doesn’t take it back out completely.
