Justin Fields is in the same category as zach wilson in regards to being a passer. Wilson (22 games) v Fields (27 games) Comp% - 55.2 v 59.7 Yards - 4022 v 4112 TD% - 2.4 v 4.1 INT% - 2.9 v 3.6 Y/A - 6.4 v 7.0 Fields also has 28 fumbles in 27 games. Zach has 6. There is no chance in hell this guy is worth a first round pick. Just because he puts up some gaudy fantasy numbers and WOWs people with his legs doesn't mean he's worth anything. Anyone remember that idiot from PFF who said the Jets made a bad selection trading up for Breece Hall? That same guy just put out this trade proposal.
This Is the definition of someone talking out of their ass without a factual basis. Literally, no chance you've even watched one Bears game since he was drafted.
Your numbers are skewed. Last year, year two, significant improvement. That should matter more than trying to combine everything together In an attempt to make your argument look better. He had a rough rookie season. No doubt. He made HUGE progress though In year two. 60.5 completion % 2242yds 17TDs 11INT Million rushing yards He did this with far less talent than Zach Wilson. This narrative Is trash. People will do whatever they can to shit on someone without actually watching them play. It's non sense.
Then you are blind or a fool for not actually watching him play and standing on this hill despite It. Zach Wilson. Sucks. Without a fucking question. Justin Fields. Is productive, talented, and was the damn offense for the Bears. Despite the lack of talent, he still showed superstar potential. I've never. Not once. Seen superstar potential with, Zach Wilson.
I watched him play almost every week. He’s a dogshit passer and turns the ball over at an absurd rate. Your bias for Fields is probably the most skewed on this board since he went to your favorite school.
I don't believe you at all. At all. It's not though. I truly believe Fields Is going to be a very good QB In this league. It has nothing to do with him going to my favorite school. Nothing. The only thing that It does do, Is I watched A LOT of his games. I know what I see and I'm not afraid to state It. We shall see who Is right and who is wrong. We shall see.
I don't really give a shit if you believe me or not. I have no reason to lie on a Jets message board about Justin Fields LMAO. The reason I watched so much Fields this past year is b/c I do thousands of dollars a year in fantasy football and Fields was on my fantasy football team in multiple leagues, so yes, I watched almost every single game of his this past year since I was monetarily invested. I do this with almost all of my players. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to plug an HDMI cord into a second or third TV and stream any game illegally. Welcome to 20th century I guess? Fields is an elite runner, he sucks as a quarterback and turns the ball over at an absurd rate. People think this kid is incredible b/c he puts up gaudy fantasy numbers, nothing more.
There's no point in trading for a young running QB who has already gotten hurt. He's probably got a 25% chance of playing 3 full seasons at this point before he is retired.
Justin Fields SUCKS. His highest passing total in a game last season was a whopping 254 yards (granted, 80% completion percentage). Yeah. He’s FAR better than Zach!
If the Jets had the first pick in the draft this year, would you draft a QB. Doesn't have to be with the first pick. Say you could trade back and still get the top rated guy, would you do it. I'm asking anyone who wants to answer.
If we had the first pick, I'd draft Bryce Young. He seems to be a cut above the other QBs in the draft. If I were the Bears, I'd also draft him and trade Fields.
First, there is NO chance the Jets get Fields with Zach still on the team. Maybe if they get rid of Zach, but even then, it's highly unlikely - Douglas passed over Fields in the draft. As to hypothetically drafting the best QB in this draft? Sounds good, except...the Jets don't know how to develop a young QB. Until they prove they can do that - starting with resurrecting Zach - they just need to keep bringing in vets to fill the roll.
The Fields discussion reminds me of the Josh Allen year 2 discussion. You know, the one where TGG insisted Allen would bust in year 3 and Sam would prove he was the better choice. Fields had the worst roster in the league supporting him, and when we played them we still breathed a sigh of relief when he wasn't playing. Because we knew his running alone could beat us. I don't know how long Fields will last in the league, but ATM he would give us a better shot at going to the playoffs/superbowl than Rodgers. He's the type of player that could take a decent team with a strong defense on an unlikely playoff win streak. Add to that he's still developing and cheap and IMO he's worth more in a trade than Rodgers. You'd be genuinely trading for a potential long time FQB and the current most exciting player in the league. But were not really a team close to the playoffs. The Chicago game was one of our 6 wins against a backup QB. 4 of the QBs we beat had a combined 4 NFL starts when we faced them (Pickett, Thompson X2, Rypian). Were not as close as some posters are acting like.
1. Fields scared no one and we would have beat them anyway. 2. Fields makes us more of a playoff team than Rodgers?? Jesus, dude. That's an awful take.
I watched a lot of Fields. He is developing fine for where he was. We all agreed going into the season the guy was in a terrible situation for a young QB. His team was even worse than his rookie year, with the worst o-line and WRs in the league, yet he improved his passing numbers while also beating Lamar Jackson's MVP rushing record. Jackson did that splitting carries with Mark Ingram. Fields would have Breece Hall. Think about that. Both are a better 1-2 punch than Baltimore had in 2019. We'd be a nightmare to face on the ground, and Fields is developing as a passer. He just needs a better situation where he actually gets some help. Add to that he is making 5.5 million for the next two seasons. Carr and Rodgers is an end to all building, and in fact would likely cause us to cut players for cap reasons. The cap savings alone is massive. Bring Fields in and we can keep building a true contender while gaining a shot at having a genuine FQB. All things considered, I'd say we'd win 10 games with Fields where Rodgers would lead us to another 7-8 win year.
