I wouldn’t put Carr in the same class as Stafford but Stafford also played most of his first 9 years with one of the greatest WRs to ever play the game. And if we’re going on accolades, Carr is a three time pro bowler to Stafford’s once. To pretend like they are a world apart isn’t accurate.

Yikes. Maybe you should look into it before commenting especially when you brought up numbers.

The Carr slander in this thread is astounding.

I get that he'll probably never consistently be a Top 5 kinda guy but some on here are talking about a guy that threw for 4800 yards, 24 TDs, on a 68% comp % in 2021 like he's a scrub.

Not too mention he's only 31 years old and we can sign him starting today and keep all of our draft picks.

Sign me up for Carr and (insert 1st round pick in 2023/2024) and (insert 2nd/3rd round pick in 2023/2024) over just Rodgers all day, every day.

25 TD’s is not really something to be excited about, especially when it’s paired with 12-15 INT’s. He threw for 4800 yds once. Every other year of he throws 3500 yards or so. He’s average. Sometimes slightly above, sometimes slightly below. I don’t want to sign up for 6 years of average.

You might want to look up their stats. They're a lot closer than you think.

The only major discrepancy I can find is that Carr averages about 24 fewer yards per game than Stafford on their careers.

Other than that, the numbers are eerily similar.

I liked the idea of Carr coming here, but I think the hiring of Hackett blew any chance of that working out.

You do realize that 25 TDs would've tied for 8th this year in terms of passing TDs, right?

That's not my definition of average.

He also consistently throws for about 4K yards, I'm not sure where you're getting this 3500 yards number.

It's been all Saints all the time regarding Derek Carr, but, apparently Joe D. put in a call to the Raiders about trading for Carr.

Nelson Agholor would probably be a good signing if we get Carr. Not that he’s very good but he had his best year with Carr and the free agent receiver class is awful.

If it's between the Jets and Saints, and I'm Carr, I'm picking New Orleans - assuming the money in basically even.

He could easily walk onto that team and win that division and challenge for a spot in the SB. The NFC is much weaker than the AFC right now, and that division in particular is a joke.

If we move on from CD, I could see them trying to replace him in the draft.

Rashee Rice on Day 2 or Cedric Tillman early on Day 3 make sense to me.

True, but I’m not sure how the money can be even without the Saints cutting a bunch of players that weaken the team. I’m not cap guy but I also don’t really see where they can make the space.

Even though the cap is fake, I don’t get how the Saints have gotten away with this so long. They’ve been close to being over for a long time if not over.

It would make a lot of sense for him to go to one of the NFC South teams, TB, NO, or CAR.

We talk about the Saints and their cap situation every year but every year they seem to make it work. Tampa strikes me as the one to watch out for. Throw Carr onto that offense with Godwin and Evans already, could be dangerous.

And he wouldn't have to deal with the NY media and fans. And given our record with QBs over the decades, why would any QB want to play for the Jets? Especially one who supposedly got butt hurt by McDaniels publicly criticizing him.

I'm not opposed to Carr, but is he really the right fit for this team and fan base?
