Does anyone really want someone that is douchey enough to announce something like this to be the Jets QB when he is all but certain to be washed up? We don't need an aging, narcissistic beatnik giving philosophy lessons at the podium. I'm out.
Depends on what the asking price is. I don't want to give a 1st round pick for him but I have feeling that is what GB will want at least. You are going all in for the next 2 years to win a Super Bowl if you get Rodgers. If it works, then great but if not then look out. If the Jets miss on Rodgers, then I think it will be Jimmy G with Mike White resigning as the backup. I can't imagine Wilson being the QB. The Jets and Wilson are better off going their separate ways. We will see how it plays out.
If the Jets did that, there would be a high probability of their 3rd string QB playing at some point as Jimmy G and Mike White are both made of glass. Disagreed on Wilson too. Hopefully he improves and makes a big jump in year 3 that I expected in year 2. Hopefully Hackett gets more out of Zach and it does him good to sit and learn watching a veteran. (Rodgers or Carr best case scenario)
This is going to test the "all we needed was just basic competent QB play to be a playoff team" mantra.
“Hey guys I’m gonna go out in the woods and get fucked up on a bunch of drugs for a few days then I’ll let you know if you are worthy enough for my services” fuck Karen Rodgers
The "all we needed" part is almost certainly true considering we were gifted multiple games last year. Whether it's "all we need" going forward is another story.
more like, ima stick my head up my own arse and then tell you what the god who resides there tells me
I'm confused. What's the problem with him going on a darkness retreat and doing what he wants to do with his life? I don't get the angst here.
I'm not sure about everyone, but there is concern that his "darkness retreat" will last past the point of the Jets being able to make a run at Carr. The tweet I read led me to believe his "4 day darkness retreat" was going to happen this week, but I could be wrong. In any case, I'm not sure the Jets want Carr, or that Carr wants th Jets. If that's the case, this issue is moot.
Looks like it will be after this week: https://www.nfl.com/news/packers-qb...our-day-darkness-retreat-to-contemplate-futur "That's why I think it's going to be important to get through this week and then, you know, to take my isolation retreat. Just to be able to contemplate all things (about) my future and then make a decision that I feel like is best for me moving forward in the highest interest in my happiness." So, SB first, then 4 night retreat. It looks like roughly a week after the SB we will know what's happening there. Will Carr be gone by then? Maybe. It's cutting a bit too close. But not impossible to negotiate with Carr for a few days and with GB at the same time. Should be interesting couple of weeks ahead.
Acquiring AR still comes down to trade compensation, So you can’t really count any team out. If the Jets outbid, then they should have a good a chance as any
Rumor has it that Jeremy Bates now leads isolation retreats. "Keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em shit."
So far on most of these threads I read very little as a positive no matter the option or QB selected, and a shit load of negatives, you guessed it, no matter what option or QB is selected. So should we just all jump off the cliff because there is no good option for us, but great moves for the teams that get them? Fuck, AR is not the only one that can benefit from 4 days of darkness.
