The Jets are in a peculiar predicament without a QB with a "No Win Now" Win Now mandate, with a GM and HC on the hot seat. They're not prying Frank Reich out of retirement and getting any of the other top OC candidates. Hackett is an experienced OC. Douglas whiffed with the bases loaded picking Zach now he's looking to hit one to the moon with bases juiced. Go Jets.

After reading 13 pages and seeing the same predictable "Negative Nancies" posting unfounded gloom and disaster, I can only say that makes me feel even more confident that this is the right move. It's sort of like how they measure the presence of a black hole: the absence of light.

Is that a serious question? You do know that KK has gone on a spiritual hike in S.E. Asia, right?

I've calmed down about it. At the end of the day fast forward a year and we will be looking at a whole new staff anyway

Hackett's second year with the Jags the team was decimated with injuries, he was the fall guy. So what if he didn't call plays in GB he still designed them. The plays didn't just materialize out of the ether.

Connor knows, Saleh knows, Douglas knows, Lafleur of Green Bay knows, Rodgers knows

It's time to make the Favre disaster right again

Was he the fall guy in Denver too? It amazes me how the Jets organization is so much smarter than all these other teams, yet have no championships to show for all their intelligence.

You just know something is cooking over there at 1 Jets Drive. Babe Douglas is digging in at the plate, pointing to a spot in deep left field and ready to knock the tar out of one into deep space. A screaming liner with the initials A.R. seared into it.

No. This point has been referenced about 20 times on this thread. Hackett's forte is not as Head Coach. But, he dam sure can put points on the board as an OC.

OK, that's fine. I agree, but the guy got fired BEFORE his first season was over. That is alarming to say the least.

I do think it's because ownership put so much money into Russell and realized he regressed into a back up quarterback. They had to change the head coach, they need personality coach in Denver

there’s no doubt Hackett was a terrible head coach but there was definitely more than his performance at play. It’s way easier to get rid of the coach making a fraction of what your quarterback makes, who you also just happened to trade the farm for. Way less egg on your face getting rid of the coach immediately then admitting you made a bad deal and gave a decline in quarterback a huge contract.
