I mean we pay them whatever they want. Couldn’t think of a more important position on D than CB and DT besides DE. We can fill LB and Safety play with mid round draft picks and FA signings tbh..see Quincy Williams!
I remember a time when a guy would be very happy to have others recognize his accomplishments. I must be some kind of freakin' dinosaur.
Pretty remarkable to have two players make first team all pro and one on the second team and not make the playoffs.
Can the mods change the thread title to announcing that both QW and Sauce were named 1st team All Pros, and Mosely was named 2nd Team AP? https://nypost.com/2023/01/13/jets-quinnen-williams-sauce-gardner-named-first-team-all-pro/ Or make a new thread announcing this? I don't want to clutter up the forum unnecessarily.
I have no problem for those guys who thank God, Mom, Dad and the girl next door for everything good that comes their way even if I'll never understand why any God would waste his, or her, time concerned about who won a football game. Maybe I need a faith reassessment. The point I was getting at - which apparently flew, like a Zach Wilson pass, way over some heads here is that humility is, or at least was, a valued commodity. It never seemed necessary for people in the limelight to toot their own horn while orchestras were already creating symphonies for them. I may need to adapt to those who need more than just a participation award.
This would have been nice as his first response. Well maybe his second - after "thank you." I'm sure the time would come when he could brag on himself responding to an interviewer's questions.
I'm not seeing a whole lot of horn tooting with Sauce. Sure... he may get more cocky as time goes on... but I think confidence is a positive attribute at his position. And like they say... it ain't bragging if you can back it up. *cough* Jamal Adams... I tend to agree about the God stuff... but I try not to judge another man's journey.
All 3 are on the same side of the ball though and was a very good unit. The other side was atrociously bad down the stretch.
You're not seeing it? You posted it without comment! Let me repeat the first line for you: "First Rookie CB to get 1st Team All-Pro for the first time in 41 years…" That's a great statement, even if confusingly redundant, that would have meant a whole lot more coming from anyone else. He's no Muhammed Ali.
