It became obvious after the Bills loss that the Jets had lost the war of attrition and that along with QB was the reason our season was lost. I'm glad the Jets lost today. It leaves everything nice and black and white:

    1) Robert Saleh will likely get a PLAYOFF mandate in 2023. Honestly, that's his deserved outcome. Saleh proved he can work with a talented, healthy team. But the very second things get hard? He folds up like a cheap suit. Truly good head coaches win in December and beyond. Saleh went on a 6 game losing streak. If he's worried about his job security in 2023? I have no sympathy....

    2) OL was undeniably the area where the injury bug most affected us. We have a talented group of OL but they cannot stay healthy. So health considered in, how talented are they really? JD has decisions to make on the OL. Got to get people in house that can play 18 games at the very least.

    3) Sauce is DROY and i really don't think it's close.

    4) GW is PROBABLY OROY although that's far less clear IMO.

    5) This Jets team is aiming STRAIGHT UP. Find a QB, fix the OL, draft or acquire a FB and I think this team is definitely playoff bound in 2023.

Anyone know where we'll be picking in the draft?

Jets have lucky spot #13 unless Joe Douglas works some magic and moves up a few notches.

Holy shit, the Texans social media department has just taken the cake for tone deafness.

Fortunately for them it's the Bears at 1 so they don't need to worry about them taking a QB, but a trade down is in play. Brutal win though for Houston though.

I wouldn't have a problem with that although I could easily see JD taking a linebacker in the 1st round....

Well, we really did in 2022. Objectively speaking that draft is going to fuel this team for years to come. Typically, DL take a few years to develop so I think Jermaine Johnson is on the ascent. Jeremy Ruckert barely played this season but the CS likes what they see and dare I say it makes a guy like CJ Uzomah expendable....

I believe in the team going forward. We just need to improve a few areas on offense, and get a QB, and the jets can be good for a couple years.

You mean Conklin. CJ goes nowhere. He’s a way better blocker.

Yep. The QB would normally be an enormous issue but in this case I don't think it's as dire as it normally would be. I think they'll be several QB's available via FA or trade that will substantially improve this team. I also think the Jets will be a very desirable landing spot for many QB's looking to make a name for themselves. Jets can afford to be choosy.

Fix the OL, draft a FB, add a few 2nd and 3rd stringers, and I think they are playoff bound....

No. Actually I mean Uzomah. He has a larger salary then Conklin and really didn't matter much this season. Ruckert will get a lot more snaps. Conklin whiffed a few times today but for the most part i thought he was a nice addition....

Conklin has a cap savings if cut. CJ has a cap loss and $5M+ larger dead money.

I wish I had your optimism, but after another epic collapse, I just don't have any faith that the Jets can do anything right.

In fairness we have built a solid roster through the draft, less QB.

I think OL, LB, S will be priority in the draft.

In reality they are a better team than last year - injuries decimated an OL that was still clicking in November but ran out of gas. Look at today’s OL both OTs were 3rd stringers. Feeney is a back up to a back up…

But the biggest problem is QB. I’m not sure what the plan is but the 2023 starter is not on the roster today IMO.

I’m thinking pick #13 is an OT.

One thing working in Saleh’s favor is the team did not quit on him - today’s offensive showing wasn’t a lack of heart it was a lack of talent. But they need to hire either another OC or definitely an assistant to ML.

Just say NO to trading up.
Trading down is almost always a better move than trading up.

So I assume you have faith in Joe Douglas to do all of the above ?? I DONT

The GM has FUCKED us all but posters like yourself are as blind as Woody if you don't see that!

the most important pick is NOT the stupid Draft..its what the a-hole owner has to see we need someone smarter or better than the all Holy and Mighty JD

the guy is far from the Wizard of OZ ..HE and his promises (eg promising he would build a good OL to Sam ds parents ) have to go . He had one good draft meh
