https://www.audacy.com/wfan/sports/...IV7eW2NF5T_FrLzR69-0p4mCXulJK8Soz9n9qlLBiIFEI The Jets season will end as it began. According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, Gang Green will now start Joe Flacco in Sunday’s season finale against the Dolphins, as Mike White will be out due to a ribs injury suffered against the Bills earlier this season. Good Lord...
Flacco is starting? I'd take the position that he has actually been retired for the past three seasons...
Wilson probably saw the entire o-line is out and said give Joe the last start of his career, I don't mind.
If I were Joe, I would just go down every time there is a big rush. Don't want to get badly injured in last career game.
I would not want to suit up and go out if Flacco is playing. It such a lay-down-and-give-up move. Why not see what Streveler has? I do not see any point in Flacco playing unless Strev gets hurt and Flacco has to come in as back-up.
My take is I don't think the coaching staff thinks Zach Wilson is able to start a game right now, mentally and or mechanically, and they want to give him space. I believe Saleh when he says he thinks it'll do more harm than good (my paraphrase) to play him. Add in that their OL has been bad and may be worse (if possible) with these injuries and Zach has been abysmal against pressure. I might be in the minority, but I get the rationale for starting Flacco at this point. I'd give Streveler plenty of plays/series though. I don't think he's an NFL QB, but he has some Taysom Hill-like ability so he should get some chances.
I highly doubt I even watch the game. It also, doesn't matter? Who cares what they do In the last game? Meh.
