Every time he “listens” to NFL offers he improves his negotiating stance with Michigan. He will leave sooner than later but I do genuinely think he wants a statue built at Michigan before he tries to win a SB.
Could be, but he’s gonna be 60 this year and he just signed an extension in Feb. I’m not sure how many teams would jump at 65 year old Harbaugh with only 4 years of NFL success that he’ll be almost 15 years removed from if he keeps waiting. It’s not like he has a track record of improving multiple NFL teams that someone like Parcells had.
The coach is not the problem. A new coach every 2-3 years is. There is loads of talent and an all time bust at QB for most of the season. Aside from ZW, JD has hit home runs in the last two drafts - so much so that we lost the OROY favorite only to (likely) win it with another pick in addition to the lock on the DROY side. Firing the coach would be embarrassing after what this guy has done on defense in two years. Have some F'N patience.
I've seen these reports for a couple days now and here is another report. From elitesportsny.com "Jim Harbaugh is apparently chomping at the bit to go back to the NFL. The Athletic reports those close to Harbaugh believe he will leave Ann Arbor if someone offers him a job. Even after consecutive Big Ten titles and a vow to close the door on the NFL last year. The Broncos have already called. Figure the Colts will not be too far behind. Others figure to enter the fold in a few days. But here’s the rub: Harbaugh is only returning to the NFL to win the Super Bowl." "Woody Johnson has many faults as an owner, but patience is not one of them. The Jets gave Rex Ryan one more year than he probably deserved. The same with Todd Bowles. History suggests Johnson will give Saleh at least a third season. But he has seen his team lose five straight and six of seven to extend the NFL’s longest postseason drought. He likely feels a sense of urgency to seize the moment with the talent he has. Oh, and he’s been Harbaugh-curious during how many past coaching searches?" We have also been hearing reports Woody isn't sold on Saleh as HC, so here is hoping Jim Harbaugh is the Jets next HC. To Saleh I say, "Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you!"
You are probably right, but as a Jets fan I'm use to having false hope, so here is to hoping we land Harbaugh.
Yep thought the exact same thing. Jimbo is gonna play us like a harmonica and go where he really wants to go. Jets have the talent, but I just can't see it. Indy would make sense as well for obvious reasons. Honestly though after thinking about it. If this team loses to Miami this upcoming Sunday and finishes out the season with a 6 game losing streak why not show Saleh the door. How does that happen after such a promising start?
Then you’ll remember that Leon was in such a big hurry to hire Rich Kotite. Kotite had just been fired by the Eagles, who began their 1994 season at 7-2, and finished at 7-9.
