Agreed. Nothing to argue. The only reason I would say to stick with Saleh is to avoid having to do another complete rebuild and the hope that he's learned things that will make him a better coach next year. That said, if Johnson says: "Clean house" I wouldn't object...as long as he then signs someone like Payton or Harbaugh or another proven winning HC to replace Saleh. The well worn definition of insanity is: "Doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results". Jet fans are all certifiably insane.
That's the thing: we have to fire Saleh first, only then really can we reach out to Harbaugh who may just say no. It's a tough situation to be in now.

We can only hope Woody one day decides to go all in on a high profile HC and just gives him the keys to the kingdom. Hess did it because he wanted something to add to his legacy after he died. Maybe Woody can find some motivation to do the same thing (not die...) The Fanbase could deal with another rebuild if a Harbaugh or a Payton were engineering it.
Maybe he wasn't interested, or JD was too far along pursuing Saleh by the time he was fired, but Doug Pederson was the hire to make - checked every box we've begged for. Experienced coach, with Super Bowl on his resume with an offensive background to reset Darnold or groom whomever they were going to draft at QB...

I think Harbaugh would go to the Colts obviously cause he's familiar with the organization, but then again Irsay is a loon and will probably keep Saturday. Don't know if Harbaugh would like New York.
I don't even think it would be a rebuild. It would just be, at the very least, absolute competence organizing the schemes, the talent, development of said talent, & actual gameplans. My biggest problem with the Jets CS, is that they do what they do... & keep doing it, whether it's successful or not. It's mind-boggling to me watching it in real-time. There's film that opponents can study, of their initial success this season. And they've responded, & attacked the weaknesses successfully. But, instead of responding, the CS insist on doing the same thing... over & over. I didn't see a flat team yesterday - - I saw a confused team. They looked dizzy... the same look Zach had last week. It just took them a little longer. A once close-knit team, looked in total disarray. They believed Saleh was gonna lead them to success. They followed his lead, & collapsed. As an aside, Saleh is finally feeling the heat. Most of his presser today, was him trying to sell himself, his vision, etc. I can't listen to him anymore... he's all air, & with absolutely no football instincts... just analytics. With a competent coach, I see a leap forward... look at the Giants. That's what I see here, if Woody gets angry... finally. As for Hess, it took him 20 years to finally 'Get It,' & hire a Parcells. Maybe, we're due.
