They have to make changes in a area here, need to have some accountability. MLF did not help Zach Wilson one bit and this team cannot convert on 3rd down or score TDs. Ulbrich had a lot of terribly planned games especially in the 2nd half of the season. Saleh did not handle things well with personnel and teams just did not execute and tons of penalties all around in pivotal red zone moments. Douglas had a solid draft and probably got himself more time but we need a change. Medical staff probably should def go too. Rough ending
I don't think anyone should get fired but clearly every single coach on the staff has a long way to go.....
Medical staff is a joke but I think that’s an above coach/gm decision. MLF should probably go but I assume they’ll try to get a qb to fit the offense rather than change it up too much. I have no clue what Ulbrich does. He seems vocal on the sidelines so maybe he’s not a puppet. I doubt any wholesale changes are made.
There are two ways you can think about this. Either everyone in the organization is not the answer and needs to go. Or we were held back by an awful QB, and we should give everyone another chance with a better one like Carr or Garoppolo. But the absolute worst thing we can do is scapegoat anyone other than Zach. Good candidates will avoid the Jets, and we'll end up in an even worse mess than we are now.
What OC candidate is going to take this job with no QB and a GM/coach who could get fired after next year? Remember we have to make the hire before free agency, when we can try to snag a better QB. We'll go from MLF to some Dowell Loggains 2.0.
Agreed.. Nobody gets fired BUT, this regime cannot afford another collapse like this next year or someone WILL get walked.
I totally get what you're saying but the other option is we stick with the crappy offensive coordinator we have then him, the coach and GM can all get fired the next year. That sounds like a lose-lose scenario all around.
Saleh is loyal to a fault. He's not firing anyone on his staff. If he's been they're back (unless they leave).
If you think we can go somewhere with a decent QB, which is very possible, then maybe we have a good year next year and nobody gets fired.
That’s what worries me about the Zach comments. They COULD be bluster from an org that wants to pump up whatever value he might have left, but this dude is so loyal to his guys I can see a scenario where he’s brought back to compete for the job again.
Saleh isn't responsible for whether Zach comes back or not; if Zach is back next year, that's 100% on Douglas.
We probably go with Carr (who has literally never won a game under 40 degrees), Jimmy G, (made of glass), Minshew (a backup at best) or Baker(a bust). I can't see any of those people turning this franchise around and getting us in the playoffs.
I think all four of those guys would have gotten us in this year. We had some luck with facing backup QBs and that ridiculous Browns win, so I don't know if they can get us in next year. But if you believe this, then we should fire everyone instead of ending up in a bigger bind next year where we scapegoat MLF or Saleh and still lose.
