He's an absolutely terrible cold weather quarterback. I saw some stats on Fox Sports the other day showing how putrid he is when he plays in the cold. No thanks.

I'm sure he's better than what we have had for years and is overall a good QB.. I've just never been super impressed when I watched him and don't want to spend big money that he will likely command.

Jimmy G or Mayfield. That is who I think the Jets will go after. Unless they pull of a shocker and manage to get Rodgers. There have been rumors/reports that GB may want to move on with Jordan Love.

I think he will be in the running. Unfortunately when your top QB pick busts out, the pickings are slim. Carr is durable, will be 32, so between him and Jimmy G, these are the two realistic option for next year. I just think the best realistic scenario for us is if Mike White plays well down the stretch, and we resign him before he hit free agent mark. Mike is 4 years younger than these two guys, cheaper, and played just as well. Plus already on the team. But yeah, if Mike doesn't deliver or gets hurt again we are likely looking at Jimmy G or Carr as the next Jets QB, maybe Baker. Not very exciting, but I doubt we will get guys like Lamar or Rodgers.

What are these rumors/reports? I know they drafted him in the 1st round, which I thought was idiotic, since the guy stunk in College against bad competition, but they just resigned Rodgers.

Yes he has a torn ACL but he might fall enough for a pick up. Hendon Hooker QB at Tennessee. On the pro side Jordan Love.

Carr is intriguing and is a starting NFL QB, more than we've had in years, and looks like a good teammate/leader, but why is he playing so lousy and what's up with his cold weather stats^. Curious what he'll cost

Don't know if Baker Mayfield is the guy we want and a leader at QB... I also think he may stick in LA with Stafford's health issues and retirement whispers

Derek Carr is absolute garbage. I’d sooner gamble in the draft.

It is like if you mixed a shitty offseason with a playoff hunt. This season is so weird.

Derek Carr puts up nice numbers. However, I'm only interested in him if we don't have to spend too much to get him. If he gets cut? I'm all over him like shit on stink.....

I'd be interested in Carr only on a short term inexpensive contract, to let him compete with Mike White.
Similar to how I'd approach Minshew, and would prefer Minshew to Carr.

Jimmy G i think is so overrated and will end up being too expensive as a result.
For those suggesting Mayfield, i think he proved this year he is a worse option than Darnold.
For that matter, I'd much sooner take Darnold back to compete with White.

Carr has been dismal but he’s probably the best of the realistic veteran targets.

My preference would be to resign White and take a flyer on someone in Round 4. Vets like Flacco haven’t panned out and I’m not seeing anything better in the free agency pool.

Name a Jet QB who's been better in the last several years than Carr?

This is someone who I could see JD tie his future too. I can’t see him banking on Mayfield, jimmy G, or minshew.

if white some how leads us to the playoffs I could see White + Minshew a real possibility but if we do miss he’s going big fish hunting.

Really torn in Carr. He’s awful in cold weather (0-5 under 35 degrees) but he’s also had to carry that entire organization on his shoulders. The one year he had a 20 ranked defense he went 12-4 and broke his leg / ankle with Jack Del Rio as his HC. Carr would just have to be a game manager and he’s definitely better than someone like Daniel Jones who would have the Jets in the playoffs already.

Carr may be a bit too pricey if the O- line needs shoring up... and it does.

White & Minshew would be an interesting combo.

    And hey... there's always Zach...o_O

    It’s interesting…

Derek Carr would be like when we signed Joe Flacco.

Baker Mayfield has 6 tds - 6 ints and below 60% which is a lot like… Zach Wilson.

Gardner Minshew is about the same age and some would argue skill set as Mike White.

Jimmy G is gonna cost too much and he’s not that great imo.

Better off trying to sign a clear cut upgrade in Rodgers and trying to make a Tampa like run. If not possible then roll with Mike White, drafting a mid-round qb next year… and then draft a qb in 2024 if necessary.

Carr and Flacco are nothing alike. Carr is light years better right now than when we signed Joe
