Nice try laconfora. It’s been pretty well reported that the jets had a liaison who went between woody and Christopher, I highly doubt he wouldn’t have an opinion on hiring a HC. And even if not, I doubt strongly he make massive changes as the team is Progressing
If you are woody, I could see him comparing to SF. SF lost their first round pick to injury, lost there backup they didn’t want to injury, bring in a 7 round pick and keep moving the ball and scoring. So Woody being a billionaire is probably asking does the 7th round pick have more talent than my number 2 pick, and if not why isn’t the #2 pick at least serviceable? Probably a fair question and one he would like answers by Saleh and MLF. The Jets are 25 thin the league in ppg. SF is 8. Jets are only 4 yds per game behind SF in passing yards, but 32 yards per game in rushing. MLF needs to understand that you have to be able to run the football to win in the NFL.
Firing MLF would be beyond moronic. Then I think about how moronic Woody has been over the years. Oh, boy.
Yeah. I think it was posted on here but didn't get much attention as it was more of a speculative thing. It essentially was a comment from an executive that Woody and Saleh aren't on the same page. About a week ago, before the Jags game, at a guess.
I’m not ready to give up on Zack Wilson. The kid has talent and the Jets should get him help in the off season. He needs to work his butt off and get ready to compete for the starting job next season. He is still raw, he didn’t play a lot in College, he was hurt last season and missed games. I love Mike White but is he the real deal? We’ll find out soon.
I will be shocked if Zach is on the roster next year. I think it's over for him in NY. He has been benched multiple times this year. He hasn't improved from his rookie season. All of the other QB's on the roster including the 4th string QB did a better job running the offense. At this point it's best if the Jets and Zach part ways for both sides. Maybe Zach can turn it around somewhere else, but it won't be in NY
Joe Douglas is a "yes man" for Woody. Saleh is not. Makes sense that Woody wouldn't like him for that and it also makes me believe he might be the best coach we've had in awhile just based on that
Let me rephrase my previous post. If there's any serious organizational change going into next year, I'm 100% done. The Jets have finally have adults running the team at 1JD. Douglas and Saleh are IT, I don't think I've ever been more sure of something. Why would we change anything on a team trending in the right direction? Also, the boos weren't directed at the team as a whole. They were directed at the dog shit QB they had playing.
We don't know how things are going to play out the last two games. However if the Jets lose out 6-3 to 7-10 is definitely clean the house material and not just in the metro area. That would get a coaching staff fired anywhere in the NFL.
A liaison? Guys he wasn’t in a South American rain forest discovering penicillin. He was in the UK. They have internet and Microsoft Teams and cell reception there.
Losing 7of 8 is obviously bad if that happened. They need to improve the OL, they need to get a QB. So, there are things to improve but overall, the team is trending up. JD killed it in the draft. Hall, Wilson, Sauce are 3 very good players who will only get better. Last year they were shit (4 wins) and now they are fighting for a playoff spot. A house cleaning should not happen IMHO. JD and Saleh deserve to come back. Who knows maybe this story is BS and this is really a "nothing burger".
That's the conclusion Woody is drawing from watching games? He's even more clueless than I thought if true. Josh Johnson looked like a Pro Bowl QB in MLF's system. Change the QB who can't read a defense or hit an open receiver half the time Jury is out on the regime but there are signs it's the most competent they've had top to bottom in many years. I hope Jets Twitter can get on him for his perspective. Seems like he pays attention to that stuff
This is exactly how the Jets would like us to see things. However the reality is that offensive line is total shit (again), the Jets have lost at least two games they should not have because of bad coaching decisions, the OC has demonstrated an inability to call an effective game plan with 4 different QB's on the field this season, etc. If the Jets lose 7 of the last 8 they really should clean house, maybe giving JD another chance to hire a HC with the understanding that if next season is a disaster both will be gone. The alternative is to keep everybody with that same understanding. However odds go way up on the disaster if you bring Saleh and company back for a third season. The kind of problems we have seen are not growing pains, they are people miscast in the wrong roles and unable to grow into the role they now occupy.
Something definitely happened behind closed doors judging by Saleh's body language in his press conference just now
there is no tangible evidence for this. None. He looks just as bad (if not worse) now as he did last year and with better talent around him. His numbers line up very closely with those of Josh Rosen and Jamarcus Russell, two of the biggest QB busts if all time along with Ryan Leaf. anybody singing this tune is just wishful thinking, because the actual evidence in terms of real stats AND the eye test show that he sucks bad.
