I agree.. Woody isn't completely crazy for being unsure about Saleh and MLF. But I don't think this is the season for a big shake up.

Those last two games are as much of an evaluation of MLF as it is White. Saleh I think is fine. MLF needs to get much better or get out. You can’t win games throwing the ball 70% of the time.

I hope this is true. LeFleur needs to go before he ruins another QB. If Saleh doesn't fire him then they both get canned. Can't take another year of LeFleur's goofy playcalling.

Woody has been hands off and that is good. But somebody has to be accountable for the meltdown on the offensive side of the ball. This cannot go on any further because the last game was a full blown stinker. Haven't heard booing like that in a while. It was tough to watch and to hear that.

Yes let's fire the coach, bring in a new coach. They miss the playoffs next year and then the GM is fired while we bring in a new GM and force the coach upon him. Same song and dance baby. It's worked so so so well.

The QB is going to be inactive the rest of the year. Someone is being held accountable.

Oh, there are multiple people that need some accountability. This is all on Zach. When your OC is incompetent the finger pointing should be at him also. His playcalling against the Vikings was the worst I've seen. That was a winnable game for the Jets but LeFleur blew it.

Woody didn’t have his cell phone when he was over there?

Every single QB that has come in under this system has moved the ball up and down the field except Zach. The system works. How quickly we forget we lost our two offensive players (both would have been All Pro). MLF is definitely frustrating at times, but overall he has been fine.

Move up and down the field with any other QB, yes, but absolute shit in the redzone no matter which QB. He needs to improve on that.

I don't think Saleh/MLF will get fired but Woody will give them a playoff mandate next season.

A “high-ranking NFL official” told the Washington Post’s Jason La Canfora:

"He’s going to want [offensive coordinator Mike] LaFleur out and some changes to that staff."

Oh NOES! The ubiquitous and anonymous high-ranking NFL official strikes again. If this shadowy character is anything like most NFL officials, chances are he is dead wrong.

On the surface, this story sounds like sheer folly. Maybe the reporter and his alleged source confused Manhattanite Woody Johnson with Manhattan movie maker Woody Allen, a huge sports fan. With this type of dodgy unaccountable journalistic breadcrumbing, does it even matter? What does matter instead, according to yet another Washington Post deep throat, is that Woody Johnson is now a bona fide offensive expert after signing off on the hiring of offensive genius Adam Gase.

Fully expect Saleh and staff to return for at least another season to sort out their unfinished business with the QB and OL. Hard to believe WoodyJ is Bananas enough to throw the baby out with the bath water at this juncture, unless there is another agenda is at play here. Nevertheless, in the unlikely event the big guy is looking to make a change, he would be foolish to make a move unless he locks down Hannah and Her Sisters to replace Saleh and His Bros.

The ONLY logic to firing Saleh is that this coming offseason is going to present probably the only opportunity to grab a top tier replacement in Sean Payton. That being said, I think bringing in Payton would delay success even more as it would probably take another season for the team to get used to his system.

Are we really to believe that a first time head coach pulled all aces out of the shoe two years ago in filling his staff and cannot do better for the team by shaking out some soft smelly turds and polishing a few of the stronger ones by shifting them around? I'm sure even Vincent F. Lombardi did some tweaking of his staff from time to time.

I'm not at all meaning this as a fight or argumentative. And I get the frustration. But I think this sentiment is at least a "little bit" fan frustration rather than fact and reality.

For one thing I would submit for your consideration the claim that our offense these last two years has looked (to me) to be an assload more professional and innovative than what I saw under Gase and Bowles. So while not perfect to me its better. Plus this guy is young, has a good family pedigree and hopefully will do nothing but get more comfortable and improve.

How many times did I watch the Jets under Gase hand the ball to Frank Gore on 1st and 2nd down while the announcers gushed over the two tough yards this grizzled respected veteran was able to grind out. Then poor Sam gets the ball on 3rd and long with only 1 shot at it and surrounded by shit receivers. I'd take MLF at his worse and give him a big hug before I'd ever want to go back to that bullshit.

Also, I guess as time goes on we'll see. But the last two seasons whenever a QB not named Zach is in there things seem to more or less hum right along. The difference has been stark enough that I think more leash is deserved. Especially when the continuity angle is factored in for next year.

Yeah... here we go. I agree. PLUS I think there is hope he gets better as he grows into his job. By NFL OC standards he's an absolute greenhorn.
