While it sucks that Tua won't play against the Pats this weekend. He looked pretty bad against the Packers throwing 3 interceptions. Perhaps that was a result of a head injury suffered during the game. Hope Bridgewater has the game of his life this weekend.
Only way Buff doesn't play full strength in week 18 is if they win and KC loses this week. Any other scenerio and they fight till the end. NE is not that good. Could they beat Mia w Bridewater? .... sure but it's also possible that they lose. Will they beat a full strength/full fight Buffalo on the road week 18? Highly unlikely. So the Jets if they beat Sea might not control their destiny till the next week but that's okay, the opportunity should still present itself. If it's not, then it wasn't meant to be. But these 2 games are playoff games sorta for the Jets, a great opportunity to evaluate MW and play in meaningful games, which they will be no matter what. First things first, BEAT SEATTLE!
After yesterday, and Denver firing its HC - I feel pretty good that KC will win at home forcing the Bills to have to play week 18 for first round bye.
Cincy would still need KC to lose v Denver or week 18 v LV. So regardless Bills will always be playing for the one spot as long as KC wins or they lose. The only way we get absolutely f'ed is if Buff wins and KC loses b/c it'll be clinched
Even if the Bills drop to the 3 seed, they would probably want to play the final week on the off chance the Bengals lose to the Ravens. Hopefully the Bills beat Cincy though and KC wins.
Remembering 2002 when the Jets came into Week 17 needing to win and needing the Pats to beat the Fins to win the division and both happened. This year it is win two and in if Fins beat Pats but we could also get in with 2 wins and Pats losing to Bills in week 18. Bills have not clinched the bye yet and so they may well be playing hard in week 18.
i think that Titans Jags is getting flexed for Week 18 because its pretty much winner gets in loser is eliminated (iirc)
Have we ever played against Tua Turn-da-ball-ova? seems like he’s hurt every time we have him on the schedule
I'd like to think we'll get to experience what Chiefs fans do where you just know they'll win (unless it's like the AFC Championship or something where it could go either way), though I'm also afraid the football gods will sabotage them this one week just to fuck the Jets over.
Yep we are going to need the Chiefs and Bills to win next week. If Bengals win it will suck to because the Bengals will play a Ravens team the final week that will have everything locked up so the Bills might not care as much because chances are the Bengals will cake-walk over the Ravens. Im sure the NFL will put all the games at the same time, but still if the Bengals start blowing them out early, I could see the Bills just sitting everyone against the Pats. (Unless the Bills realize that they can pick and choose who gets sent to Cincy New England/NY Jets, and they would that team to beat Cincy so they get homefield in the second round). A lot of things at play here.
YES! For the past few hours (well since the the white / tua announcements) was 2002..... I don't want to jinx it, but I'm feelin it man.... qb off the bench and all...
If the Bengals win, the Ravens vs Bengals game will be for the Division title - so I am not sure why you would think they would just cake walk over the Ravens. The Ravens defense has been playing well not giving up more than 14 points the last 4 weeks (9, 14, 13, 9)
As bad as the Jets offense is, a lot fans here think we are alone in that. Denver is brutal, Indy is awful. Steelers, Titans and Texans are all pretty bad. Heck even the Tom Brady Bucs and Rams struggle to score 20 most games.
I remember sitting on a cooler in the parking lot with a TV hooked up in the trunk of the car. All of a sudden I looked up and there were 30+ people huddled around my car watching the Pats win. When they showed the final score in the stadium all I remember is hearing this massive roar from from inside Giants stadium and then a complete mad dash for everyone who was outside to enter the stadium. Then we went on to kick the shit out of the Packers. What a day that was.
