Zach doesn't know how to play the position on this level. His mechanics have always been awful and now his confidence is gone. That's not on Saleh that's on Joe Douglas. It was a bad pick point blank.
Still it's the coaches jobs to develop players espicially your #2 pick, how come every high qb draft pick that go's to the Jets and Browns bust, are they just the unluckiest organizations in the world? Or do their personell suck at developing Quarterbacks? You gotta put blame on the organization and the coaching just as much as on the player.
We also suck at developing Qb's, Sanchez, Hackenberg, Geno, Darnold, Wilson thats 0/5. And now geno is a probowler so apparently he wasn't that bad after all. So we got no one to blame but the organization/development at this point.
The crazy part is the Jets passed passed on Mike Mccarthy for Adam freakin Gase, that's how incompetent this organization is, All Adam Gase did was cost us Trevor Lawrence and than they hired another Trash Box, anyone who wouldn't want Mike Mccarthy right now over these 2 morons is a moron. This ownership can't hire a good coach if their life depended on it. This organization can't hire a good experienced coach, a good experienced offensive coordinator, or develop a qb how the hell do you ever expect us not to be the laughing stock of the league when they keep making the same mistakes over and over again, it's like almost like they like losing. 11-21 already if he loses next game which im sure he will he will have twice as many losses as wins, and if we don't play 3 backup qb's this season were easily 5-10. This guy is a trashbox people but I guess Jets fans love mediocrity so keep praising him.
coaches who are better than Saleh record wise. Shocking according to Winning percentage Saleh is the 7th worst coach in the league, if you guys can't see he is a trash box just wait till next year youll be calling for his head, it took 2 years for you guys to realize that Zack was a trashbox even though most people saw that once Mike White was able to throw for 400 yards in one game while Zack could barely throw for 200, Saleh is next, the not winning 1 close game at the end of the season or when it mattered most, not starting Mike White vs Baltimore instead of Flacco who shouldn't be on this team, the constant false starts and undisciplined penalties, the taking the timeout home to his wife, and not pulling Zack in Ne England and his 0-4 record when it mattered most don't lie. I can't really fault Douglas too much for picking him though. Every scout for every team who was looking for a QB had Wilson rated #2. Lawrence was not going to be an option, Wilson's stock was shooting up, Fields' stock was dropping, Jones was considered limited in terms of athleticism, and Lance was talented but raw. Plus, we were one year removed from Joe Burrow shooting up the draft boards pretty much overnight and actually ended up being the star scouts thought he was, so with Wilson, I think a lot of people were thinking "Oh good! Here we go again!" (yeah, Burrow at LSU vs Wilson at BYU is not a 1 for 1 comparison, but still, I get where the NFL scouts' minds were). If Wilson had been a mid-1st prospect and JD inexplicably taken him at #2, I think I'd question his judgment.
How unprepared his team was yesterday especially compared to how well-prepared and high functioning the Jags were was a bad look for Saleh and CS honestly. The Jags had a great game plan and executed well. Makes you wonder about coaching more than I have in a while. However, I do feel that Zach's putrid play puts the entire team and CS in a bad spot. The game plan could have been better, but when you have a QB who just holds the ball, can't read a defense or make a decision and then misses open receivers often by a longshot, what are you supposed to do? I think this CS deserves a chance with competent QB play
A little early to start looking at Saleh's coaching record since he inherited a mess of a team from Gase and was most probably forced to go with a not yet ready for primetime QB, who will probably never be ready. Zach's lack of improvement has the chickens coming home to roost and is now impeding the team's future progress. It's highly doubtful that Vince Lombardi would have been able to develop Zwilson, but then again Vince would have never agreed to having Zach on the roster, let alone as a starting QB. How do you develop a QB who has such a low football IQ? The short answer is you don't, because he can't be improved. The coaching staff deserves another shot to see what they can do with a fundamentally sound QB; in other words, a QB who is the polar opposite of Zach. Of course, if they also whiff on the next signalcaller and we're sitting here in a couple of years discussing the same failures, it would be best to send all of them home, including JD. Another huge problem is, from a historic perspective, the Jets have been more of a failure than a success and are far from one of the most admired and respected franchises in the league. The franchise's shortcomings obviously present an obstacle when trying to lure top talent consisting of players, coaching and management alike. Like New Jersey is the nation's capital for most hazardous waste sites, the Jets have been a top dumping ground for draft/free agent busts and coaching/management has beens. Whether or not such a historically toxic culture can be changed is still up for debate. This goes for both the Jets and New Jersey.
Did I ever say Mcdermott was a offensive coach? He brought in the right people who know how to develop quarterbacks right? Which makes Saleh more of a clown because Zack regressed under him. Blame Zack all you want but Josh Allen stunk the first year to and than suddenly developed,
Lol at criticizing Saleh and mentioning McCarthy. Real WFAN caller vibes here. Every cowboys fan wants McCarthy gone. Dude has coached a hall of fame and a top 5-10 qb. He’s not some offensive genius (or genious apparently).
I honestly don’t understand what I’m reading here. It’s like every post mocking a sports talk caller in one user.
Mccarthy 153 96 2 .614 won a superbowl cowboys going to the playoffs 2nd year in a row Saleh 11 21 .344 Let me know when Saleh can hold Mccarthy's jockstrap and atleast makes the playoffs. Sure why wouldn't I want Mccarthy with a proven track record over Gase/Saleh. Show me a game where Mccarthy forgot to use his timeouts show me? He would never leave Dallas for this shitshow now but we had a chance to get him over Gase and that proves how incompetent ownership is. As they chose Gase over Mccarthy and Saleh over Daboll, and Brandon Staley.
