Did the defense let up a backbreaking TD at the end of the game? Did I say the defense owned the entire blame? I clearly said that there were other reasons they lost, but that putting the entire blame on Zach Wilson as many here have done is over the top and speaks to another agenda.

Zach played better yesterday. Good enough to win, but still not great. His INT cost the Jets 3 points. Not moving the ball AT ALL to start the game set up the punt return TD. He made some really good throws though too. I was impressed. Unfortunately, the entire Jets team is not very good. I may have overrated them. The O-line is awful. The special teams is weak allowing a punt return TD and a missed FG at the end (though it was difficult). Mann just isn't a great punter overall. The defense is good, but not great. It definitely was not great without Quinnen Williams yesterday. The 51 yard TD was embarrassing. Especially from an effort standpoint. I get being fooled, but someone (Michael Carter) definitely needed to make a tackle.

Zach got them a 17-13 lead with 2:00 minutes left, so to blame him would be ridiculous. It was a team loss. All 3 phases were disappointing. Zach looked like his usual self to me. Plenty to work on still, but the big play ability was there.

Starting a thread that he should never play for the Jets again makes no sense, but people write a lot of crazy stuff in the heat of the moment.

No, actually. I said THEY won 5 games with him as the QB, and pointed out that despite his lackluster stats he was a part of those wins. And if your reading comprehension was better you would've understood that I clearly said he was part of the reason they loss yesterday, but not the main one.

The only people here who didn't acknowledge that there were other reasons for the loss are the ones who shout "Zach Wilson sucks!".

Whatever faults and shortcomings Zach has, the only terms these people see are if Zach is the QB and they win it was the team that won in spite of him, but if they lose, it's all Wilson's fault. Conversely when White is the QB and they lose, it's a team game and everyone contributed to the loss; when they won (once) it was because of how great Mike White is.

If he cut be just an average short range QBs, we would have a starter. Problem is, he is abysmal

"I thought he handled it really well," Garrett Wilson said of his teammate's return. "He showed a lot of perseverance, especially at the end of the game, making some of the throws he did. He gave us a chance to win the game. That's all you can ask for. He gave us a great chance to win the game."

I think much like Zach, he is learning to speak with the press, and not use them to vent his emotions.

That or he realizes that Wilson engineered what should have been the game winning drive and then almost pulled out the tie at the end. He made some huge throws in the 4th.

It was def a confusing game. You can see the arm talent and broken play ability, but playing within the actual boring part of the game, he doesn’t seem to “have it”. I’m not sure he has a feel for that stuff. I guess time will tell.

I strongly believe the Jets win yesterday if Mike White plays the game. I'm waiting for Nania and Conor Rogers to break down the All-22 and post some clips, but it felt like Zach left so many throws on the field and he could have easily surpassed 400+ yards.

Zach is so frustrating b/c he makes so many wow plays, but then you get 3 or 4 head scratches and how did you miss this type throws? Crazy man.

Another thing I will say about @FrontOfficeFanatic making this thread, is you picked the wrong game to make it.

    Zach yesterday:
    -2 touchdowns 1 interception.
    -Over 300 yards passing.
-Gave the team the lead with 2:00 minutes left.
-Drove them down the field for a last second field goal despite terrible O-line play.
    -Threw some beautiful passes.

None of that warrants a thread this negative. If he threw 5 interceptions, and lost the game 42-3, you could see someone acting like that. After yesterday? I just find it embarrassing and a bad look for the fan base.

Zach will be starting for the rest of the season. And then next year we will be bringing in some half ass vet to compete with Zach, only it won’t be a competition. Zach will be declared winner and play until it’s abundantly clear to Joe Douglas’ ego that he’s a bust. By then if Douglas isn’t fired then someone will be to take the fall (LaFleur, maybe even Saleh), and we’ll be drafting a new guy again. Hopefully whoever scouts him has two fucking eyes to recognize actual talent instead of being wowed by some “off platformz awesomeNesS!!”,

But he lost. Win/losses only matter.

1-3 in his last 4 starts. Yikes

Spot on. The Jets have failed for decades at developing QBs. They've shown no ability to do so. I thought this time would be different. I thought that having seen how they fucked up Darnold, Douglas would've put a priority on hiring a CS that could do this. And yet, here we are again.

Mike White is clearly the better QB for them right now, but the Jets had NOTHING to do with that, other than signing him. Whatever MW has learned and acquired he's done so on his own over the course of almost 5 years in the pros. And yet people are shocked and angry that a 23 year old kid can't master an offense that's not really designed for his strengths without any real coaching and development. SMH.

If this is the best the Jets can do, then for Zach's sake and theirs they should look to trade him. But it's infuriating that they've wasted yet another opportunity to solve their decades long QB problem because they won't look at the real problem: the organization.

True enough, but still 5-3 in his 8 starts vs. 1-2 for MW.

not really sure about better…he was 51% completion with a pick and missed many open guys to boot

I guess better is a relative term…he played better than he did against NE where he threw for 77 yards and 40%…and the better part was that he made a bunch of big plays yesterday which he hadn’t done before, so yeah

but he still wasn’t good. He still can’t play from the pocket and go through reads…he hesitates it takes too long and he takes sacks or throws up picks if he can’t escape the pocket.

he’s just not a good fit in this offense…it just doesn’t fit his skillset

Go look at White's stats vs Minnesota (a team with a worse defense than Detroit) and compare it to Wilson's yesterday. The biggest difference is completion % where White was 3% better. His yards were slightly higher too but he threw like 20 more passes. No TD passes. Even his QBR was lower than Wilson's.

The team had opportunities to take the lead and couldn't vs the Vikes. Yet if you even hinted that White might not have played so great, this forum eviscerated you. That's all you really need to know. All objectivity has gone out the window.

You forgot the two TD's with the second one coming with 4 min left to take the lead.

ok, ZW was not the sole reason we lost yesterday. Saleh and LaFleur both stunk it up yesteday as well as the over rated AF defense who never gets off of the field on 3rd down and never ever gets a turnover. The stark difference in the way ZW plays QB as opposed to Mike White who actually knows how to play QB in the NFL is staggering. How many RB check down gains did we see yesterday? How many TE Short passes to move the sticks did we see? It's big play or nothing with ZW which is why he is not an NFL caliber QB at this time. Maybe he learns over the coming years, but not now. Flacco is done, I never EVER want to see him play another second in a Jet uni. So its ZW or dare i say, Chris Streveler on Thursday night. This season is shot and for all intensive purposes, is over. I see no reason to play ZW anymore. We can (and probably will) lose with ZW so why not see what Streveler can do in a real game? We have nothing to lose, in fact, this could be yet another case of the NY Jets FO / coaching staff not having the first freaking clue what they have, same as with MW. Fact of the matter is this CS is afraid of its own sdhadow, they would never EVER play Streveler so we are forced to endure ZW playing again in a monsoon Thursday night. Get ready for a 6-3 game or something close to that.
