And the answer is to completely clean house and start over from scratch, like you're demanding? You think a new coach next year will instantly take this team to the Super Bowl in his first year?
Exactly. It sucks that they lost yesterday, and their playoff hopes took a hit. But overall, this team has improved by a lot. Hall, Wilson, and Sauce are 3 great picks by JD in last year's draft. The defense while not elite is still very good. They have playmakers on offense, it sucks that Hall got hurt. Obviously the QB situation will have to be figured by JD/Saleh. I doubt Wilson will be "the guy" next season. Probably White or maybe they get Jimmy G or someone else. There is a lot to like with the Jets right now. At the same time, they still have areas where they need to improve like QB, OL.
This is what you need to be a Jet fan. https://www.tcm.com/video/317499/man-called-horse-a-1970-movie-clip-vow-to-the-sun You have to be able to listen to people incessantly speaking in tongues. You have to hold to sacred vows that represent unassailable natural truths. You have to be willing to be strung up by your nipples in the sweat lodge. You either have that or you don't. It's easy to be a Pats fan...
This is the season that brought you over the edge as a Jets fan????? lol . This is actually the first season in over a decade that we are actually remotely relevant and the future actually looks pretty decent too with our young talent.
I cannot fathom how anyone, under any conditions, sticks with this shit through the Gase era and sees ANYTHING about this season as the "last straw". It seems to me very much like sticking through the Kotite error and cutting ties at the end of the '97 season because we lost to the Lions and missed the playoffs.
Been a fan since 2003 and gives up now. Peace out Boy Scout, I feel sorry for you if you ever have to deal with real adversity.
The last 11 years of puke didn't do it. But the year the Jets finally have a great young core that is only going to get better and probably would have been a top 3 seed if they didnt lose their all pro G and RB. That's the year you give up? lol alrighty then. see ya.
You choose NOW of ALL TIMES to give up? They are .500 and were 1 possession away from beating some of the best teams in the league, and can still make the playoffs. They hit on so many draft picks and have a great future. QB can be fixed. Zach still has low experience. Breece Hall and AVT are studs, but had season ending injuries. We lost 2 games on special teams flukes. This year was never supposed to be a playoff year, but a step forward, and they definitely took it. Defense went from worst to top 3 and they are competitive now, they just need to get over the hump and start closing games out.
Eh, you never now when you lose that steam. I think most of us probably thought the Jets were going to the Super Bowl after 2010. Then shit happened. I see the same need for urgency that some of these guys like george here are feeling. It would have been very easy for the 2001 Patriots to fold up against the Greatest Show on Turf because they "weren't there yet" but those assholes didn't give a shit and just went in there and took it. I hate to fucking hell that have to use them as an example but I think the Jets really do have the talent to go deep into the postseason, but they may not have the coaching and may not have the right QB under center.
For simplicity. Could there be a generic “ I quit this Franchise “ thread where once a year we bid all the quitters goodbye and the new fans hello. I must admit, some people do pick the oddest times to quit a team.
See you tonight on the game thread, complaining about how the Refs are fucking the Jets, cool story though
That's a great idea. It would be interesting to go back and see how many of these quitters are still posting.
