If this makes you leave, I don’t believe you were ever really here. Today made me very upset, but by no means is this my low point in my 30 years of being a Jets fan
Seriously, why would you want to jump ship now? Some of us fans live for the opportunity to relentlessly abuse the Jets because, in addition to death and taxes, the Jets sucking is the only other certain thing some of us have in our lives. This is the most promising looking team the Jets have had in over a decade and now you want to leave? This is a championship caliber defense, regardless of the high school jock pretending to play QB on the other side of the ball. There has been plenty of lows with this team in the past 50 years and this doesn't even register as a blip on the radar compared to the historic heartbreaks.
We didn't expect the playoffs this year. We still, hypothetically, have a shot. We're seeing the best play since at least 2015, and maybe since the Rex Ryan years. We're not even close to being the worst team in the NFL. Yeah, it sucks to lose, but other than the Patriots, Ravens, and Bengals games, we haven't played all that badly in any of our losses. Yeah, mistakes were made and weaknesses were revealed in these last three losses, but we're a team on the rise that just needs a few more pieces and some more experience to get to the next level. I think this sky is falling pity party on this board is WAAAAAAY overblown considering that we weren't even expected to be relevant this late in the season.
I wonder if Lions boards see these dramatic 16 year old girl declarations every other year when the team is 7-7 and in playoff contention.
Sorry but this is a losers mentality, we have the longest playoff drought in the fuckn Nfl, 12 fuckn years is unnaceptable, I hate when people say "well we improved this year", "theres always next year", this team has the talent to be in the playoffs but they will not make it, who cares about "effort" and almost doesn't count. We had every chance to make the playoffs this year and choked and didn't win 1 game we could of easily could of.
Guess he missed the year the Jets were ready to slay everyone. Then Vinny Testaverde tears his Achilles first game of the season.
I could take the losing because the talent isn't there. But the Jets are just not coached well. They are overwhelmed every game. They do not play to the strength of the talent and they coach scared. Zach was getting bum rushed with every snap. When he rolled out his accuracy was better and he made some good throws. You would think LaFleur would go with that but nope just run an RB up into a mass of Lion D linemen. In this upcoming draft, the Jets need to pick or sign at least 3 quality linemen. This current bunch was getting pushed back like they had roller skates on.
OP, trust me, I wish it was that simple to just abandon this franchise lol. This team will just forever be cursed, I'm convinced of it. Every season, it just feels like they find new ways to lose games or have a season collapse on them.
As a fan since the 80s I wish to god I could quit supporting this cursed failed franchise - I have tried a few times to get behind an NFC team or something so I could actually enjoy a season rather than just the draft but it doesn't ever stick - I don't blame anyone for bailing on this crap.
I almost said "well don't come back when we are successful and challenging for SB on a regular basis" but then remembered that that's never going to happen
