Fantastic.... Then he better win because If he doesn't. His road In NY will be a short and forgetful one.
The Jets can beat all of those teams to be honest. I think the biggest issue with Zach is chemistry and playbook – White coming in and have better overall chemistry with staff and players just tells too much. This is the best case scenario, we can sneak in with Zach or we can miss.
We would legit be in Super Bowl contention with Lawrence on our team right now— Instead because of numb nuts Braden Mann and Old Man Gore (most overrated rb of all time) we are about to see Wilson throw multiple int games. Kid will be out of the NFL soon….and be podcasting I would take Josh Johnson over Zach right now—so embarrassing that were rolling him out there.
Florham Park Dog & Pony Show Who says New Jersey is boring? It may not be Dallas, but in just a few short days, we have learned the NY Jets are anything but an open book, operating in a comically clandestine manner like some scorned TV villain. Here is a quick recap of the high drama from the past few days alone: 1) Mikewhite previously saying he is definitely playing Sunday vs Lions now calls it wishful thinking??? What you talking about Willis, or Whitelis? 2) Mikewhite claims to have visited 10 doctors in a few days when most mortals have to make appointments two months in advance to be graced by the presence of an MD. Were the doctors arranged in an assembly line, waiting anxiously for their turn to examine him? This is Mikewhite we're talking about, not Flash, so logistically, the prospect of him getting around to 10 doctors in a few days is laughable. 3) Mikewhite gets cleared to play 15 minutes after getting beaned twice by the Bills, and he does not get cleared to play one week later? The guy got his rib cracked, not his head. Oh yeah, he's not starting because he is injured and in discomfort, like 90% of the other players on the field this time of the season. 4) At Zach's presser a couple of days ago before being announced as a starter, he looked a bit too happy and jovial, like the cat who had swallowed the mouse. Guessing ZW is not exactly adept at keeping his cards close to his chest, since there are no gambling venues in the state of Utah for him to practice the craft. 5) If anyone looks like a stressed gambler, it's Coach Saleh, who is being forced to play a QB he may have not been too crazy about drafting in the first place. But that is all water under the bridge at this juncture. Saleh should be wise to the fact Zach may not the guy to be running the Jets' offensive system on a consistent successful basis, since his ability to recognize and adapt to the opposing defense is non-existent. Performance aside, it's becoming evident Zwilson does not fit in very well with the blue collar work ethic trying to be instilled by the team's CS. Flak Jack Reality Check In 1979, Dan Pastorini of the Houston Oilers was one of the first QBs to wear an experimental flak jacket, and was able to play extremely well for several games with 3 broken ribs. And here we are 43 years later, where technology and sports medicine has moved at the speed of light, and Mikewhite is unable to play because of the same injury, if not, less severe? Sorry, ain't buying it. Mikewhite hasn't been cleared to play when guys were getting cleared to play (and doing so very effectively) with the basically same (or worse) injury over 40 years ago while wearing experimental equipment? Like WTF? I guess marketing Mikewhite's toughness to the fans is not a good idea when you have, what is quickly amounting to be, a colossal bust of a #2 who may need to be showcased for shits and giggles, if nothing else at this point. Zach's Last Rodeo? If the events of the past few days have been any indication, this will not be Zach's last chance to take a few more baby steps (hopefully not in reverse), and possibly show signs of developing into a somewhat serviceable NFL quarterback. The stage is now set for a historically ineffective December team like the Jets to see if they have been set up for elimination from playoff contention by two perennial stink bomb teams like DET & JAX. Yeah, they're both much improved, blah, blah, blah. Obviously, if Jets cannot take care of business at home against such mediocre opposition, they have no business of even being in the playoff discussion. Instead, they will deserve to be given the business. If ZW cannot quiet the skeptics with his play, one wonders how long before this pressure cooker percolates to the breaking point, sparing little in its wake, if and when it sets off. Despite his lack of gambling prowess, those who bet the ranch on Zach are hoping he runs the table in the final four games in order to alleviate the mounting pressure. And since we're asking the question, with Zach firmly in control of the Jets playoff destiny (unless he gets shelved again), what can possibly go wrong?
These "conspiracy" theories are exhausting.. It pains me knowing that people actually believe this shit.. There are literal people, on this wave length, all the time. It absolutely baffles me that these people are real.
do know one thing the first 3 and out - especially if the first drive - fans will get antsy and nasty. coaches are gonna do everything to avoid that so look for many runs and vanilla 8-10 yard passes. lets see if ZW turns them into an adventure.
I have never understood this thinking, they may get a chip on their shoulder if people discount their play this year, which most are actually giving them praise for. But why exactly would a team with the 2nd youngest roster in the NFL have a chip of their shoulder because the lions were bad when most of the players were in middle school? Not to mention most of them were probably not Lions fans as kids.
Hopefully, Zach benefitted from the time off to improve his game. It goes without saying this is a must-win situation. It makes no sense that White is not cleared to play this week but played the entire game against the Bills. Had the Jets taken White out of the game earlier against the Bills, I wonder if he would be clear to play this week.
++ This is key. Every time you see Zach doing drills, he’s working on chopping his feet and then releasing the ball. I really believe he knows what he needs to do to get better. For whatever reason, once in a game… his fundamentals (starts with his base) go to shit though. Hopefully the game starts to slow down for him. His ball placement is too erratic to be a solid NFL starter right now.
The biggest issue with ZW is that he can't make the easy throws reliably. Saleh said this after his third start in 2021 and it still holds true. The Jets were wowed by his strong arm and his ability to make off-platform throws and then never asked themselves why. Why would you want somebody who can make great off-platform throws when what you need is a guy who can make the sound fundamental throws? Nobody gets to play QB in the NFL because they can make off-platform throws. That's not what you want your QB to be doing. Predictably nearly 2 years into the ZW Experience we're being treated to the occasional wow throw surrounded by a bunch of others that any college QB could make but ZW can't.
I try not to think about this because it pisses me off to no end every time I see him or hear his name.
The timing of elevating zach was a little convenient plus justin Herbert played with fractured ribs….plus you add in the weekly comment from sala saying we expect zach to play. Im not saying they are telling doctors not to clear him. It’s possible the jets are saying just saying the doctors didnt clear him…
