I would like to throw my cap into the 'Streveler for backup' camp as well. Is there any chance they dress three QBs for this week, just to give us options if Zach struggles?
I'd be willing to bet that 95% of this board wants Zach to succeed. I'd also be willing to bet that 95% of this board is misinterpreting criticisms as "OMG THIS GUY SUCKS AND I WANT HIM TO DROP DEAD ON THE FIELD."
The 5% who don't are most likely just ruing the bitchybam "I told you so" posts that are sure to follow lol. I really would like to see bitchy win one once in a while haha.
Our offensive line played bad. It happens against when you play one of the toughest defensives in the league in cold weather.
Ya--ZW will probably lob one high over the middle to him. But imagine if he hits him for a slant/TD! Shit would we be happy or what.
Going into the game with only Flacco dressed would be a terrible decision. if Zach struggles, and the odds have shown that he may, putting Flacco in would just be conceding a loss......in what is pretty much a must win game at this point. Streveler should be the backup. This is the exact scenario for why we kept him.
I totally disagree I don't think Mike would be saying he went to 10 different doctors for opinions about playing. The only good thing coming out of this is that Mike White's price for signing him next year is going to drop. This could be just what the Jets organization needs to convince them that they need to sign Mike next year. I feel that there will be a QB competition in 2023 & let the best man win.
His entire career has been a highlight reel of shitty QB play. It's not just the fact that he only managed 2 yards of offense In a single half of football. Something I've never seen before In my life. He hasn't been fine, he's been far below average In just about every metric, if not every metric you can find to gauge a QB. That's even taking the eye test completely out of It, which he has failed horribly with as well. IMO How you guys have so much optimism still Is beyond me, In the end. I hope ya'll are right though but I highly doubt you guys are.. Nothing suggests he has turned some magical corner In 2-3 weeks at the QB position. Again. I hope he does well I've hoped to be wrong since we've drafted him. I haven't been. So.. We shall see. I think our only shot at making the playoffs was with Mike White under center.
This is basically his chance to get back in our graces. He's had a few weeks to focus on himself and not stress over playing in games so he better have things figured out. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
Its almost as if the CS feels they owe Flacco his spot as the veteran backup. Streveler will never see the field in a Jets uniform during the season. The risk is far too high that Streveler repeats what he did in the Pre-season. Same rationale why Bam Knight didn't see the field for 11 games. Couldn't have him showing up MC 1 and JR.
I don't get this take... Zach Wilson hasn't played a full season In his first two seasons due to injury as well... I don't think this assessment Is all that accurate.
Despite the HC saying he would likely see the field again this year. So, either Saleh has a crystal ball and knew that MW would be hurt, or he had decided that Zach would play again this year regardless.
Zach is seven games and counting without injury. He also was able to play most of the games last season, he so far has been way superior to Mike in terms of being able to stay on the field and play.
Okay.. when given more opportunities, I'm assuming the law of averages would suggest that Isn't anything miraculous. The point still stands.. Dude has been injured just as much. Way superior? OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....K Again, the dude Is not an iron man, he hasn't been. This argument Is wild to me. Even going back to college Zach Wilson has been plagued by injuries. I just don't get It.
