I think the reason the team is in this predicament is due to the 2 patriots losses that were both on Zach. If we even split we would have a better shot. Then the breaks. Again, I don’t give a crap who the QB is and if he’s a nice, wholesome dude or a younger back street boy. Just win.
There's a difference between mediocrity and radioactive waste. One you can spread the blame around, and the other you put in concrete and bury for 100 years. Look, I'm not saying White is the answer because I honestly don't think he is. But what he did and what Zach did are nothing alike.
isnt everyone in here doing that, they both play the important QB spot. We are talking about who gives us the better chance to win and he was the prior QB so yeah
Find me one person that said Zach gives us a better chance to win. No one is debating that in this echo chamber.
Do you see the levels of blame for Zach in the Pats losses as even close to the levels of blame for Mike White in the Bills & Vikings losses?
I thought Mike looked really good in first 3 games, even better than the stats suggest. In every game he didn't hurt us and actually gave us a chance to win. And we did face 2 tough opponents, played 2 on the road, 2 in very tough rainy/snow/wind conditions. Unfortunately multiple fuck ups in the red zone by shootings ourselves in the foot cost us these games. I still think Mike might become a Kirk Cousins type for us with a bigger arm and a long term starter, whom the team will have no choice but to keep for 2023. The Jury is out, and he needs to do well in remaining 4+ games to earn good contract. I think he will. Where I felt Mike could do better aside from obvious mobility flaws, is finishing final drives of the games, where we still had a chance to win/tie the game. The game winning drives. Against Minny he marched all the way down to 18. And then had a great look at Moore on 3d and 10 for 1st and goal at the 8, but missed it. Against Buffalo on the last drive I thought there was a chance to move the chains also. This is where he needs to be clutch. And maybe it is lack of experience or just a smaller sample size, but ultimately we will need to see Mike deliver in the 4th quarter with game on the line if we are to make noise this year. Heck, with the way Detroit is playing it may be necessary this Sunday.
HUH??? What are you talking about? Are you saying that more people are blaming White for the Vikings and Bills losses than Zach for the Pats losses? Or are you trying to claim that since more people have blamed Zach for the Pats losses than MW for the Vikings and Bills losses that "proves" that Zach was more at fault? In any case, I've never denied Zach's major role in those losses, but I have pointed out - in the face of all those absolving Mike White of many of the same sins they blame Zach for - that White has had a hand in those losses.
Not a bad analogy.... considering this forum is becoming radioactive waste. Maybe it spawns Godzilla 2.0?
White is a 20-20 QB. Gets the easy yards that are available. When it gets tight in the red zone, he stinks. Doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, end of the day, Wilson will have half or more of the Jets wins. They will all be against tougher defenses as well. There is no telling if white wins those games. Oline has sucked all year. White is a statue, would have gotten hurt or sacked many more times in those 7 games
No. Zach threw an INT over the middle of the field after the JFM sack. We were still winning that game 10-3 before at the end of the half.
I have never heard of such a thing. Can you give an example of another “20-20 QB.”? Surely Mike White isn’t the only one in NFL history
His teammate’s love and support him in a way we’ve never seen a Jets team do for any of our young Qb’s… MFW in 6 starts has given us Jets fans - 2 of the best statistical games we’ve ever seen in over 20+ years of Qb play. Whether he is or isn’t the answer is irrelevant right now, he’s got the rest of the season to prove it.
Oh for God sake this is a ludicrous rabbit trail nonsensical discussion. So now we are trying to put a qualifier on the value of each loss. We have sunk to a new low.
