This is my complaint as well. We have three good receivers (and Mims)... and we hardly ever try a vertical strike. Tell me Garrett Wilson can't shake coverage on a deep go...
WT*, with all of you... The team needs to win and its not just MW, ZW, CS, etc. The team, that includes everyone not just the QBs... This team lost to two of the best teams in the league... they may - AS IN MAY - make the PO but not if they play the way they have the last two weeks. As presently constituted this team can not make mistakes and expect to win... how many drive killing penalities did we have on 1st down yesterday... at least three or more. how many drop passes did we have, as Borat said, the OL sucked and MW was the unfortunate recieptent of their shitty play. IT is on this CS to get this team ready for the PO run so if your going to be critical get on them ...
You know, I don't think it's just the miserable the QB we've seen here for years. I really think Mike White is a very good QB and a potential legitimate starting option going forward. Record isn't good though obviously (not that it's his fault). Let's see the next 4 weeks. Honestly I love what I see, but need to see more games
For one Kirk is overpaid, and secondly, Kirk didn't really get paid until he had a full season at QB in 2015, starting in all 16 games plus a play-off game, going 9-7 winning a division and getting 100+ passer rating. He was then tagged the following year for 20 mil. Now, even if White starts and the Jets make play-offs, that's still not quite what Kirk did before getting paid. It will all depend on Mike's performance, but I think he can get to 10-15 mil range if he can elevate his performance in the remaining games and finish in 90-100 passing rating range and the team makes play-offs, and he plays well there. If this happens, Mike will be a very rich man this off-season though not Kirk Cousins rich.
White has the Cousins style down however I think his ceiling is higher. No idea if he will get the opportunity. Health is going to be an issue until he starts getting protected by the refs and maybe even if he gets protected by them. One huge key for the Jets if he doesn't get the opportunity here is being really careful not to let Belichik get his hands on him. White is made for the modified Erhardt-Perkins that Brady made famous and while he is not that good he's better than Mac Jones by a good bit.
Frankly I think we should have won both last games - we just shot ourselves in the foot. We've outgained both Minny and Buffalo, which is not an easy thing to do. But stupid penalties, not making easy plays, like catching easy balls and fumbling in the red zone, turning the ball over, atrocious special teams coverage is what hurt us. Still, QB play has been a plus in these games. It should have been enough win, but - we ended up with tough losses instead. We need to get it together for Detroit. Losing 3d in a row will all but ruin play-off hopes. I am looking for Mike White to elevate his game now that he is back home and went through the experiences he went through in the last two games against great teams on the road. This is a must win.
The funny thing about Mike White is what I like about him is the opposite of Zach Wilson. -I like how fast he processes each play and reads the defense. -I like how he makes the easy throws. -I like how he looks comfortable in the pocket. -I like how much his teammates seem to respect him. -I like how he handles the media. -I like how fast he releases the ball. -I like how he seems in command of most plays that are called. What I don't like is: -Lack of mobility. -Lack of escapability. -Lack of arm strength. If there was a way to create a mix of both QB's, Zach White or Mike Wilson, the Jets would have one of the best QB's in the NFL.
Oh please, I love Mike but the first line is rubbish. Zach did not lead this team like we wanted, and the passing game suffered, but we were strong in the red zone and punched it in. The theory that we won despite him and lost with White despite him is a massive overreach. I hope Mike translates his great talent with more wins than losses or we are toast. Fuck moral victories and great performance coupled with more losses.
Goes to the hospital yesterday evening, shows up today in a Daniel escaping the lions den T-shirt because its Lions week and says he's good to go hes the man
They were moving the ball at will with intermediate passes and Bam Knight in that one drive right up until Carter coughed up the rock. It felt like a comeback up to that moment.
Beli would piss all over himself if he landed White. His playing style is very Bradyesque (this is not a prediction of future success, your results may vary), fast to process, quick delivery, decisive. Even his alleged weaknesses are similar, weak arm, immobile, etc.
