I look at It as.. We need a FG most likely anyway, two score game. Let's take the easy points first, get the stop, drive down the field and try to get It done with the ball In OUR hands. It seriously was well done, we just didn't get It done on that final drive. It's unfortunate but we are just as good as the "top" team In the AFC. We have things to clean up, get better at, we had some unfortunate things that happened to us, we had self inflicted turnovers from Flacco and Carter. Yet, despite that, the game was In OUR hands In the end. We are In a good spot. Truly. Even with the two losses the last couple weeks. The future looks bright my friend.
It comes down to the conditions, and what you've done all game. They were knocking on the door and if they can't punch it in from there they're ot a playoff team anyway. As badly as White seems to have been hurt, they were damn lucky to be down there, and asking him to engineer another 50 yard drive with his injury was foolish IMO. Under different circumstances, with a proven stud QB I might agree with you but not in this case.
Again, I'm with you that they should have gone for it on 4th and 1. Just saying, in hindsight, maybe that's not the play to dwell on. If anything, it's the Carter fumble. Hell, the Flacco fumble too. Jets were driving on both.
Also.. This Is just being blatantly against MW. He's had several special throws. I can list several. That's not a fair statement but you can feel however you may. MW has looked better In every single game he's played than any game Zach Wilson has played In this year. IMO. I say that confidently and I'll debate that against anyone.
And that's even more reason to go for the TD there. Too much can happen - and in this case did - rely on putting together another long drive and expecting to score a TD then.
What I call "special" is being able to throw a 40-50 yard pass on the money under pressure. I'm not saying he's never done that but I haven't seen him do it regularly. And I'm not saying Wilson would've been a better choice today, but maybe better than an injured MW and def better than a completely disinterest Flacco.
It wasn't luck. The dude was huge In a lot of throws. Not true. We had more offensive production overall than the Bills, no? We were rolling In the second half and If It wasn't for the injury to MW and the two fumbles. We would've likely been In those positions more. I'm glad they had the confidence they had, I'm glad they did It the way they did, I wish things would've went differently. The chance was there though, It just didn't work out on the final drive. Everything worked out the way you would want It to work out, except for the execution at the end. It was a tough position to be In regardless. Being overly critical with It Is odd because to me, It really was beautifully done up until that final drive. idk
Quinnen Williams update: Good news obviously, but translating from previous Saleh injury updates... see you in 3 weeks, Quinnen.
Which Is fine because MW made bigger throws today that was just as good as Josh Allens running... If I'm looking at what I want more from my QB, I think I'll go with the guy that looked better passing more time than not. Today. That was the case, even with broken ribs. Regardless. It wasn't the difference In the game. They had 25 more rushing yards than us today. We had 100 more passing yards than them today. Do the math. I'm not sure the QB was the problem and It's fucking baffling that people still have the gull to look at Mike White, with everything that was today, and still decide to be overly critical of the kid. Wild.
At the end of the day, another loss. Good stats? Sure. Showed toughness? Absolutely! But he didn't get the W. Sorry, but that's the bottom line. People here want to be critical of Zach - and justly - but the gate swings both ways. White made some questionable decisions, a few bad - like "Zach Wilson Bad" - throws, and some check downs for a couple of meaningless yards instead of throwing it away, among other game affecting decisions. I know I'm engaging in "blasphemy" saying anything negative about Mike "Fuckin" White, but that's what I saw. And still, if he's healthy I think he should continue to start unless Zach has shown the CS something in practice that leads them to believe otherwise. I'm just saying that being a tough SOB and racking up stats without wins isn't enough.
Jets may not make the playoffs this season, but looking forward to next season when they finally have a decent QB and can send Flacco home and Zach back to his room. Mikewhite needs to be severely criticized by Chris Simms because he should have thrown 2 INTs vs. Bills. Biggest play of game was CJ penalty, which deflated team going into locker room and forced them to play catchup ball in 2nd half. Jets could have been up or, at worst, scoreless at half.
If you think Mike White had a better game at QB than Josh Allen, then I don't know what to tell you Chief. Wow.
