Meh, we are not that great. Lost in Minny. Will lose in Buf most likely. Will struggle against a real good Lions team. Will undoubtedly make Trevor Lawrence look better than he is. Will surely lose in Sea, so when Mia comes up it won't even matter. At this point, I would settle for winning a division first and having a home playoff game. I think only old farts like me actually remember what that is its been so freaking long since we've hosted one. SB. LOL

We are a young team with a bright future but if we are any good now we need to make the playoffs.

It would be great experience for the younger guys who have never been.

I believe the Jets may well have one of the 5 best rosters in the NFL particularly when accounting for the team’s youth and potential moving forward.

So here's how I break down the overall talent on the team:

QB - maybe if we get lucky
RB - strong need a bit of luck to have Breece come back and be what he was
    WR - strong
OT - average to weak depending on whether Becton is anything
OG - One lockdown position if AVT winds up here
    C - average to weak
OL depth - average to weak depending on how the over-30's go for next season
    TE - average
K - hard to complain at this point but the Jets routinely mess up a good kicking situation

    DE - average
    DT - strong
    OLB - average to strong
    ILB - strong
    S - average
    CB - strong
    P - average

The reason the Jets are where they are right now is the run game and the D being very strong in the box and great on the edges. That and some real early luck which got the Jets out to 3-2 and then 5-2 when they easily could have started 1-3.

Next year they're going to have to look hard at QB and OL. I think the biggest pure weakness on the team right now is a battered OL that is relying on too many vets over 30. It would be really easy for that to be the weak link next year that keeps the team from competing. The QB situation probably needs fortifying also.

We are not as good as we could be because we have guys that are injured, most notably Breece Hall. After that, it comes down to the QB play. If White can play 90+ passer rating football I think we have a very good team. If he plays like a top 5 QB then we have a great team.

Fair. I think the third down has been a major issue all season.

However, I got the defense ranked 4th - 2nd in the AFC. My personal rankings are completely biased and based solely on whiskey watching football.

    1. San Fran
    2. Denver
    3. Dallas
    4. Jets
    5. Bills

I think this 5 defense are "championship" level

Last year? Try this year. TGG was ready to lynch him when he made his taking receipts remark.

Debbie down, how can i help you turn into a positive patty? We have beaten two of our remaining five opponents already this year.

We need to lock up Mike White and find a veteran to replace Flacco at QB. No point drafting a QB until we figure out what we have now.

Between Breece, Bam, and Carter we have a good to great group of RBs.

Wilson is our WR one and Davis is our WR two. Not sure we can rely on any of the other guys.

OT is a huge concern, especially with Becton going down repeatedly. Huge hole(s) here.
OG AVT is a stud and Herbig was a nice find. Tomlinson is stealing money from us, I would cut him in the offseason.
C McGovern has been solid. We should bring him back unless we find someone better. We have other holes to fill in the draft.
    OL depth - holes galore
TE - No superstars but two solid starters and a rookie to develop
    K - Stud

    DE - better than average
DT - best combo in the NFL
OLB - had by doubts before the season but they have done well aside from some tacking problems
ILB - have to figure out his contract but great play from Mosely
S - looked shaky at the start but average sounds right to me
CB - Best trio in the NFL
P - We could do worse, plus he is on a rookie contract

    OFFENSE:
    Assuming Hall comes back 100%…
Need stud OT. Becton can’t be trusted.
    Need another WR with speed/length.
upgrade at TE with more playmaking ability.

Need Mike White to keep doing what he is doing and develop more. He is at worst an avg NFL starter. With more protection and better run game, he will be good enuff vs trying to develop yet another young Qb.

    Trade Wilson.

    DEFENSE:
Pretty set to a point where you take best available.
Feel we could use another Lber + safety too.

This team is not far off.

Idk man felt like Vikings could do whatever they wanted in offense when they had to. Our defense is good but you're not going to completely stop a good team in today's NFL. The offense has to keep pace and so it's been the Achilles heel. Also playing without AVT and Hall.
Idk I didn't go into this year expecting playoffs so I'm not going to start talking super bowl now but can only hope they keep this momentum going and build on it next year.

We have decent talent overall, not elite. Coaching staff is still a bit rockier than you want to see at this stage. If Quinnen Williams and Garret Wilson hadn't popped off when they did regarding the schemes I could easily see the Jets as a four or five win team right now.

Wait Bart..we beat one of our remaining 5opponents>>>the Bills with z Wilson at QB

They ALL will be tough games imo: Bills want revenge; Gino the Seahawk wants revenge; the Lions are roaring and the the Fish are biting lol

Trevor Lawrence has to prove he's a true # 1 Pick better than Wilson and White combined

But I will still be hopeful especially for QB White who can really show us something here

The pressure is on ...but enough pressure on a lump of coal produces a Diamond !!

If we had Allen or Mahomes, we'd be as good as the Bills or Chiefs. But we don't, so we aren't.

Did you base this theory on their previous set of downs?

First game was all JFM. Jets are up 17-3 at half if he simply lays off. Questionable call, but why make the ref make that decision. Defense then gives up 3 before half, gives up TD on opening drive, give up three straight FGs. MLF decides to throw the ball 50 plus times. None of that happens if JFM doesn’t commit the penalty. Also, we got lucky as shit in the browns game.

There's a politics section. Keep things like this there. Thank you.

    P.S. I'm not a mod. Just making a suggestion.
