Agree with your sentiment but there's no-one offering to take his contract so pretty sure we're stuck for 2+ more years. It sucks because we can't even try to get a decent back/up given our spend at the QB position after we sign MW after the season. If we cut him post-june-1 2023 we get a 15mm dead money + an additional 5mm cap charge.
Theres always going to be some dumb gm who thinks he can fix Zack Wilson and give us a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Hasn't Joe Douglas already proved he can fleece other gm's? Don't ever doubt that man!!!
We will find out next week. Two starts against the two worse pass defenses in NFL. Bills are going to be a tough test. They will stack box, if they move white off his spot it will be a long day. I seen way too many 3 yard passes on 3rd and 8 today.
We moved between the twenty yard lines. More stats than points. We were awful in the red zone and stalled each and every time, which is how you win games. We couldn’t run for crap, we had some explosive plays with no points and threw a whole bunch of three yarders when we needed ten. In the end we lost the game offensively and the execution was far from stellar for MLF squad. Let’s worry about winning first and making the playoffs instead of regurgitating the same crap about Zach poor performance two games removed. That’s ancient history. Didn’t impact last week, or todays or next week or the week after next. There is a lot of football yet to be played and we are no closer to a playoff spot, and who will remain on the squad next year, including QB is far from certain for many a player.
Those six yard passes on third and nine must be something LaFleur found in his desk drawer from the last offensive genius who used it.
I hope I am wrong, would love to beat the bills, but they are going to miss Zach’s runs. Interesting enough, his stats in the buffalo game were very similar to Cousins today. Gonna lose a lot more games than you win when QB is throwing over 40 times a game. Wasn’t saying it was anywhere close to good, but Zach was also leading rusher for the jets that day. The oline sucked quite bad that day. Not the oline that White is playing behind either.
Yeah but with White in Buffalo will either stack the box like they did with Zack and not respect Whites ability to beat them with the throw or respect Mike White to throw and therefore open up the run. So once White showes Buffalo he can throw it will be open the run. And Buffalo's defense is worse than last year.
You know Buffalo will stack the box and take away the short passes. White will have to throw the ball downfield. Running that ball against that stacked box will be key.
Oh for sure. But we were playing the Viking today and not the Pats. The uniforms are the clear giveaway.
Joe Douglas is counting on a death match competition between Wilson and Mike White in 2023 training camp If it's close, the loser raises his market value for 31 other sucker GMs to bite on On the other hand, we let Wilson "win" and offer him his last opportunity to prove #2 pick franchise status. And after a few losses it's easy to say he's a bust for sure Wilson winning games for us will give the Team a real dilemma...if MW is declared the starter that solves that and we all know ZW is out as a Jet Of course, there are X factors with the Players who obviously want to fight harder for Mike White
His pre-2021 draft analysis of Zach looks like he was writing about his 2022 season to date. It's eerily accurate. Does anybody disagree?
