I remember going to those seasons: Had season tix at the time, we bought them through my mom's old boss(he would only keep the Miami tix). It didn't seem all that bad at the time. For the oilers game, I'm pretty sure I remember why it was so empty--it was pouring, I'm pretty sure President Clinton was flying into the city and traffic was all f'ed up, and something else was going on. Getting there would've been a nightmare.
I can't imagination waht they are like now that they have won, I was there in 2000 and we killed them and they were losers at the time and they were the biggest jerks I had ever seen. They did not care about the game for one seecond, not at the beginning, not after the Pats scored, all they cared about was getting drunk and exposing their jealousy of New York.
It was worse, our fans PAID alot of money not to show up while these other teams get blacked out b/c they don't see tickets. I was at all those 90s games and especially during '95 and '96 the crowds were awful in Nov and Dec- there were about 20-30K fans and about half would usually be opposing fans.
Alright, I am from NJ, born and raised... I rep NJ to the fullest bacause we all know you can take the kid out of Jersey but you will NEVER take the Jersey out of the kid... But there are a ton of ignorant pats fans up here, in Western Mass (1 exit from NY) but those there are a ton of righteous folks here too. Lots of hardworking people floating around... Yesterday I did hear it from some A-hole Pats fans with their faggy brady jerseys on... I do hate Brady, I hate his limp wristed hand slaps after he scores.. F'ing little bitch.
This got me thinking. We all know that Patriots fans are ungrateful, classless a-holes. JetsTillDeath thinks it's a result of not being used to success in football. But how aren't they used to it by now? How many Superbowls do they have to win before the fans take the high road? Now, it's not all the fans. But it's most of them. So I'm wondering if this is specific to Boston - where the people have been jaded by years and years of Red Sox misery and the city is constantly compared unfavorably to NYC. Or is it just a natural by-product of success. If the Jets had won 3 Superbowls in the last 5 years, would we all be complete d-bags too?
You all sound like a bunch of pansies.. It was a road playoff game against a hated rival. There are a ton of drunken losers at Jets games and would have been just as classless the opposite way if we played that game at home. Only way to avoid it is for the Jets to get home field next year..
It must be just where you sit at these games. Where I sit at Jets games, it was no where near how it was yesterday. But yet other people said it wasnt that bad yesterday. It's all the people you sit around.
i sat in section 329 and it wasn't too bad. one jet fan got thrown out for fighting, but other than that, it was pretty peaceful. most of the pats fans were classy and shook my hand after the game telling me that the jets have a great coach and a bright future.
My comment is not from a lack of success in football, which they have had recently, its from lack of success from their beloved Red Sox. They do not handle their current success well. My GF is from Boston originally, and her parents are HUGE Pats fans, and even they will not go to the games because of the vulger crowd, and he admitted to me that Boston fans are so used to losing out to NYC (Yankees in general), that they will take any shot they can at a NY team. All in all I agree with some other posters in here, get the PO game at home, and you do not have to worry about anyones elses fans.
according to patsplanet forums, you guys are all lieing and if you were treated badly its b/c u did it too yourself.
If you'd prefer to hang out with the wine and cheese crowd you should become a Giant fan. If you attend a playoff game in January in Gillette, and you have a bright green jersey on expect to hear some ribbing. It's football???
They were dickheads with a few exceptions, but for the most part they were complete dicks, even after the game walking to my car they couldn't help but comment on the 4 hour drive home? Just because they aren't allowed to wander too far from the farm I guess makes that funny. Tailgating was sweet tho, met up with about 20-25 jets fans, chanting and all. One guy even had a blender made with a Jets helmet and a weedwacker motor. Ingenius. It will take a little while to get over this, but for now good season, and we need to take the AFC East next season.
haha......I was asked how much I spent on the tickets...told them i got them for free, then when they said i have a 4 hour drive home..I said I live 5 minutes away....that shut them up
