This was the right move. Mike White season begins on Sunday. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...er-no-2-overall-pick-will-not-start-vs-bears/
It’s this simple for White. Make your reads. Make your throws. The Bears are a very good rushing team, I’m not sure the defense will contain Fields.
It had to be done. The Defense Squad are furious at Zach for his comments and behavior. For the good of the team Saleh made the right choice.
This is a very encouraging move, because we have seen this team stick with bad quarterbacks for too long in the past. It doesn't mean Zach is finished with the Jets, but it does show that he is accountable for his play and his attitude. Mediocrity at quarterback would be a huge step up. Just think about that.
Pretty much this. If Wilson took responsibility, he probably gets another start. Head coach can't continue to support a QB who is dividing the team. I'm sure most of the players respect Saleh a lot today. Wilson pretty much is done, hes not the starting QB, and it will be difficult for him to get his job back AND gain the respect back from the team.
While its very likely true, the source is an "insider" cited in a tweet. Either way I just want to win.
Benching Zach is all the more reason why I love this front office. Benching Zach requires Saleh and JD putting their egos aside. It proves to the team that they care about the team and their success more than any individual selfish reasons. I'm certain this is not the last we're going to see of Zach either. He's going to have to prove his way back on to the field and I'm 100% in agreement with it. He'll get another chance and I hope he straightens out and improves his reputation and play.....
"We're going to roll with Mike White." Fucking awesome. Not because I expect him to be brilliant, although I do expect him to be competent, but because the coaching staff just showed that there are no golden boys on this team with a free ticket. I bet the team love Saleh today.
Wrong move. Bad defensive team coming in...he was on notice...now, if the Jets keep winning how do you put him back in ? Reminds me of Phil Simms being benched by Bill Parcells in 1983 for Scott Brunner. Without an injury to Brunner, Simms might never have gotten back the starting job. I guess this is the end for Zach Wilson in NY. Should have traded the bleeping #2 overall pick to Saleh's old boss Kyle Shanahan for a ton of picks. Could have had Jamar Chase catching balls from Sam Darnold. Ugg.............
