Oh im sure we will get a week of the Wilson nut huggers telling us it was actually a good game, not a bad one. They are the only ones who post anymore
He said the same thing after the first loss to the Patriots. He better grow up quick because this lack of responsibility will torpedo any faith his team has in him.
I'm glad he said it. That's the type of quote that could get the defense to turn not he offense. Usually a mutiny like that would be terrible for a team to have, but in this case, it might be the only thing that can save the season. This team is a QB away from competing for the playoffs and maybe more. It's being held back by one guy. We have a former Super Bowl MVP QB on the roster. He's far past that prime, yes, but he can play at a level that's above minimally competent. And minimally competent would have won this game.
Yea that was a pretty bad thing to say. He's doing such a bad job he's shrinking his leash just by talking. I think it's inevitable regardless at this point that the jets are going to be bringing in a starting vet QB next off season
Mike White did this last year also after the Buffalo game but not about his teammates, about the game plan. Quick trip back to oblivion for a Miracle Man 1.25 start QB when you call out your OC.
Not really. He knows Saleh won't bench him no matter how bad he plays. Saleh will have to dig deep in his excuse book for Zach after today. He's already said he had no intention of benching Zach. I wonder if the D is just playing for themselves at this point as there's no hope on offense.
Dude - what game did you just watch? There’s never been an above average QB who had a game like that in the middle of their 2nd year. there’s nothing to be happy about - we just got confirmation that we pissed away a #2 pick.
Dunno about that but I'm sure seeing a combination of all the worst bits of Sanchez, Smith and Darnold rolled into one currently.
For the love of all that is holy, bench Wilson, anyone would be better. He was 9 of 22 for 77 yards and should have been intercepted twice.
I can see Zach's career path being very similar to Geno Smiths. Maybe in 5 or 10 years down the road, Zach will be the FQB. Won't be with the Jets though..
Technically, he is right. They asked him the wrong question. They should have asked him if he alone let the team down. I saw plenty of open receivers
Just popping in after watch the game - in case no-one realised it - Zach was terrible, is terrible and always will be terrible - never should have drafted him - they need to trade for a decent quality starting QB for next season or this is going to be Sanchez all over again where we waste a good quality team by having nothing at QB No team has been as unlucky as the Jets when it comes to drafting the QB position - 3 top 5 first round picks (and two second rounders) in recent times drafting QBs and we have less than nothing to show for it - it is clear the Jets cannot scout or develop QBs so don't try - trade those draft picks to get a decent quality starter and be done with it (not sure I would've pulled the trigger on Watson given all his issues but if anything even close to that comes up again I don't care what the cost is - get it done)
I think Zach is firmly on a Joey Harrington career progression. He's married to the GM who took him and as soon as that GM is gone so is he and his later opportunities will be brief because he does nothing well enough for a team to look at him as a good backup option. Sanchez was a bit higher on this scale. Darnold is a lot higher on the scale and has a decent shot of making a Geno Smith comeback at some point. The Jets are in a dangerous spot right now because once this bubble bursts we're going to be like the Lions and just miserable for a long time. That's the price of buying into a Matt Millen and letting him run the show too long and then suddenly discovering there's not enough talent to compete at the NFL level. Doesn't mean you don't have Ndamakung Suh and Calvin Johnson on the roster but you also have too much street meat for them to matter.
