It's too bad, actually it's inexcusable, that it took a year and a half for the OC to lay down a game plan that his personnel could carry.

the old rating sucks. 84/152... How was perfect qb play = 152? Qbr is more rigorous.hes at 48 this year

LaFleur tried to install his offense *and* develop his QB. That was a disaster.

Now he's moved to plan B which is to develop his QB. His offense lies in tatters and will likely not be installed for the Jets because the QB cannot run that offense for his life.

He's picked the right option for now. Over time ZW will either develop the good habits required to run LaFleur's offense or he will be pushed aside by somebody who can.

Whether the offense is ever installed or not depends largely on how much patience the Jets have with ZW. If the organization makes a total commitment to the QB then the offense only gets installed if he can run it at some point. If the Jets decide to move on then there is a better chance that the offense gets installed successfully.

I think a Jets playoff run this year might be the deciding factor. Mark Sanchez got 3 years as the Jets starter out of his recovery in Ground and Pound in 2009. That wasn't what Schotty wanted to run but Sanchez could never run the offense that he was trying to install.

That wasn't called because he was a runner at that point and it was the correct call.

The hit after he threw earlier in the game though, was a helmet to helmet and should have been called.

"This year, the NFL has made a tweak to the controversial rule that no one knew had happened. The change appears in the official 2022 rulebook, which the NFL has posted online. The rule now reads as follows: “It is a foul if a player lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent.”

I am not sold on QBR. Maybe if they release how they actually come up with it.

My main point is stats can be manipulated to say what you want.

He's got the arm but he's almost incapable of throwing a flat or wheel route.

He hits turf when he throws to the flat, not wheel routes.

Very insightful comment. You must have studied his tapes long and hard to come up with this one.

You mean like when when Mac Jones was hit by Mosley when he was a runner - and it was not helmet to helmet! 15 bullshit yards right there. But when Zach is a runner and gets hit helmet to helmet, which unlike Mosley's hit, is illegal, as @dawinner127 pointed out, with ref standing literally 2 yards away, that's not a penalty. So far we got the short end of the stick on these QB hits, and a VERY short one at that.

The difference is we were playing the Bills this week not the cheating Pats.

Still, we got screwed both times. The helmet to helmet hit on Zach at the end was the ball game, and it was obvious call, with ref looking directly at it from 2 yards way, which wasn't made. If this call is made, we have a 1st down and take a knee and score a 20 yard FG with no time left. Thankfully we stopped Allen, so it didn't cost us this time, like it did with JFM call against Pats, which was made AFTER the interception occurred and we were about to get pick 6.

It's like a classic ref bribe job. You can't really call it too obvious, so that it is clear you were bribed, but make really impactful calls. So, when this mild hit just occurred, you don't call it, since it is not really a foul, and it looks like it could be a regular pass, maybe even a completion. But when it is picked off, you are thinking wait that is not small but still maybe not worth the BS call, but then when the guy is about to score a TD on a pick, that is huge, so you throw a flag to take it all back. Cha-ching!
