Apparently our old thread has reached its expiration date, so here's a new one. Isles with a solid game in Chicago for their fourth straight win, 3-1.
4 in a row with a favorable schedule ahead of us. Hawks are a pretty tough team despite their record so no surprise we had to grind it out. Going to be in town next week and planning to go see the Coyotes game.
Team seems to be playing with a little more freedom, they are getting puck out of zone much faster. Trotz priority was scheme first, seems like this coach gives them a little freedom to deviate especially the forwards. I love the development of Noah Dobson, kid is playing with a lot of confidence, and alway makes effort to get puck on net. I know it’s early but they are also plus 11 in Goals For vs Goals Against, under Trotz they never scored a lot of goals.
6-4 after 10 games. Pretty good considering how they started. If the team is going to make the playoffs, then they need to bring in another scorer. The Metro is tough with Canes, Rangers, Pens, Caps. Even the Devils look like they are going to be a good team. On to the Blues Thursday night. Hopefully they can extend the winning streak to 5 games. LGI.
Anders Lee with the Gordie Howe hat trick, all in the second period - assist at 5:06, goal at 10:18, fight at 12:45.
Nice win last. Five in a row and 7-4. BTW Isles are #13 in value. NHL Team Values Ranking List – Sportico.com
He kept them in the game. Without him we probably lose something like 8-2. Anyway, great win as the Isles stole 2 points. At 3-1 I thought it was over. Time to face the Rangers tonight. Have to think Varlamov plays this one. LGI!!!!
Back to back are tough games, if they came out slow against Calgary this one might be a blow out early. Rangers are trying to right the ship a little, they have been a little choppy. Varlomov needs to be a stud for islanders to win this one. In Dobson we trust!!!
It's not just a back-to-back but 3 in 4 as well. Hoping for the best but I have a feeling we lose tonight. Also, the Rangers are going to want payback for the SO loss to the Isles a few weeks ago.
9-5 with 18 points. While these comeback wins are nice to see it would be better if they could play with lead. Falling behind by 2 goals is not a spot you want to be in very often.
Great arena, terrible game. My apologies, I brought the bad luck I usually only burden them with at Staples Center to UBS.
Phoenix plays a defense first scheme like Trotz did. They keep everything outside and block everything in middle, however this is where the elite offensive player like Crosby, Ovechkin…etc make the difference. Islanders power play had some good chances but it just did not connect. Let’s get another winning streak going!!!
I know you can't win every game but last night was a terrible loss. Getting SO by the Coyotes with a no-name scrub goalie. The Isles pissed away what should have been 2 easy points.
