That's how we run this offense. We got to run this offense through the running game and not stray too far from it. Will be in most games if we do that, tire the other teams defense out!
This is how the Jets will win this year. Keep Zach's throws to a minimum. No real reason for him to win the game with his arm, just play smart and let his team do the rest!!
We didn't run the ball enough and Zach played too much hero ball. He didn't do that in this game against the Bills. Offensive scheme was obviously more different than last week.
While I agree the run game was solid, what won this game was Zach planting and throwing without thinking. Very little scrambling and going off script, and most importantly staying composed for a final 6+ minute drive planting and throwing to the right guys.
I'm happy he actually started to run forward more and not force anything. That's what he needs to do.
I loved the last drive. Run run run run run run after you saw some weakness. In honesty I didn't like the run up the middle on first and Robinson made something out of nothing. But I think that gave MLF the idea bills were tired and to jam it down their throats. Best half of football in a long ass time
Terrible turnovers and penalties ruined us. We tried to get too fancy and yes defense leads the way. We had 3 penalties today, we stay sharp there and play hard defense we will be within 1 possession games
I've been saying this for awhile now. Let Zach manage the game until he masters the game. He's still got a few things to learn, but he'll get there as long as MLF doesn't have him put the ball in the air too much.
Makes you wonder what could have been last week if MLF hadn't abandoned the run game. Hopefully, that's the last time it happens.
100% agreed, and he will be put in spots to make plays and thats where we see development and evolution in a young kid
One of the announcers - Ian Eagle? - kept saying on that last drive that got them the go ahead FG that "This is where we find out if they trust Zach to make a big throw" or words to that effect. And I kept saying "No, No, No, No, No!" Only if absolutely necessary. Fortunately the CS wasn't listening to the broadcast. As much as I want Zach to be that guy who can put a team on his back and carry them, he isn't there yet. I believe someday he will be, but he isn't yet. For now, being patient, making the occasional big time throws as he did today, is great progress from him. Saleh and MLF know this, and will continue to groom him (not "coddle him!) until he becomes the FQB they know he can be.
Agreed! If Zach is the guy we’ll by the time his contract is up. No need to rush. Let’s see how many games we can win with this defense and run game.
