It's just odd to me that many Jets fans have had a total meltdown and given up on a QB after he had a 4 game win streak and then lost a mostly competitive game to the Patriots 22-17. In the Patriots game, he threw two nice touchdowns to Tyler Conklin and had a really nice deep throw to Garrett Wilson. All after losing both of his tackles and his #1 RB, plus was playing without Corey Davis and a completely reduced Elijah Moore. It is honestly a little crazy. The Jets are (5-3) overall and (4-1) with Zach Wilson. You would think they are (0-8) with these posts. Unreal.

Sam was thrown into the fire and couldn't cut it. Zach is being coddled and is somehow putting up worse numbers. Which is because despite his arm and playmaking ability, he can't throw routine passes on target and worse, he runs backward anytime the defense puts pressure on him. And while Zach hasn't had a game as bad as the seeing ghosts game, Sam had more good games at this point in his career than Zach.

The only "funny business" in your spread sheet is that the topic, which is the relationship between attempts and throw aways, is not how you ordered your list which buries the clear view of Wilson's weakness. Simply clicking on the last column header would very clearly illustrate the true picture. Better yet, a bar graph.

Zach Wilson is not, in any way, an NFL franchise quarterback.

You don’t put an before an acronym that starts with a “N.”

Those people who said 'keep sam, and trade the #2' are looking real good. He needs to prove himself against Buffalo.

Sam had an okay rookie year, but he quickly regressed in years 2 & 3. Zach started out poorly but rebounded after he came back from injury in Year 1. This year he missed almost all of T.C., P.S., and the first 4 games but when he returned he looked a lot better than even at the end of last year...definitely signs of good progress. The he ran into two of the best defenses and began struggling. Still, he led to to wins. Then came the Patriots and BB who eats young QBs like popcorn - not an excuse, just stating that he went through a gauntlet of tough games. But even last week with throwing 3 picks, he nearly brought them back. And let's not overlook the role that other aspects of team had in all these struggles - patchwork OL, key injuries to skill players, questionable play calling, and as good as the defense played they were bad on stopping NE on 3rd down and had key penalties that kept the Pats drives going, not to mention the backbreaker of the RTQ that completely turned the game around.

In all of this, I don't see Zach struggling mentally, as Same seeing "ghosts" did. Sure, he's pressing, like most players, particularly young ones do, and that's leading to more mistakes, but he should be able to overcome all that. From comments made by his teammates he has their respect and has been able to rally them when needed - that's not the mark of a "head case".

Nothing so far guarantees that he's going to become a top QB, but I think he will, and at a minimum he'll be above average and able to lead a team with strong surrounding talent to a SB.

Ugh Sam sucks and eventually would have been ousted. We probably would have taken Sewell or maybe even traded down. We would probably be looking at Willis or Ridder from this past draft if that would have played out.

Yes, I properly do when the acronym begins with a vowel sound regardless of the letter itself.

You may not, but no one here has ever held you up as a preeminent user of the English language but rather a puerile, picky troll of the highest order, frequently off-topic, as you are here, to make no worthwhile contribution to the topic at hand but only to make personal attacks.

I expect that by once again exposing you for that which you insist on being you will only increase your effete attacks. Loser.

How was Zach "coddled"? Aside from starting with a sketchy OL last year, they didn't even play one snap together before the start of the season. ANd whatever he had for skill position players - being generous with that term with that group - most of them went down by the time he returned from injury and still he played pretty well.

I'm not saying Sam had it good. Having the coaches he had was a big contributor to his lack of development, but from what I know he also didn't put in the off season work like Josh Allen did so he has only himself to blame there. But Zach was thrown into the fire just as much, if not more so, than Sam.

It’s very odd, but not surprising, a portion of the Jets fan base wouldn’t accept success on their way to the AFC final, find something to bitch about, and would rather dwell on the lower QB rating than the game, not a chance, bad coaching, blah, blah, blah, the whining sound of a chronic unhappy attitude.

Sam’s #1s was Breshad Perriman and Le’veon Bell. You have to be kidding me.

The Defense. Breece Hall and our “terrible” OL won those games. like in the Denver game his TD run was the difference maker. That’s 7pts we won by. Is anyone watching the games?

Zach hadn’t even completed a pass by we put up 7 pts.

How so? Does he not have 3 or 4 completely misguided throws a game? Is his accuracy not a problem? Twitter is ablaze with countless examples of him missing wide open receivers. Videos of him completely dismissing the purpose of the play and scrambling out for no reason. Why? Is he bailing on common sense football on purpose to make bigger plays? I don’t believe he’s selfish, do you? He just doesn’t understand what he sees at all. And yes, he’s 3 for 31 this year when scrambling. Nothing I said is a lie or even an exaggeration. The level of improvement needed from this kid from both a mental and physical mechanics standpoint is astounding. His mechanics are trash. His accuracy is trash, and his on field intelligence is trash right now.

I don’t blame them for drafting him in hindsight. All the candidates from Zach’s draft and this past draft are highly questionable. JD took a flyer. But Zach never should’ve started last year. We did him a major disservice putting him out there and now he’s waaaay behind the 8 ball.

The fact that we are comparing the 2 and there is actually an argument being made that Darnold was better at this point in his career is utterly depressing.

Darnold was *much* better than Zach at this point in his career. 61.9 completion percentage 19 TD, 13 Int in his second season. He was looking like an aspiring NFL starter albeit with some flaws that needed to be addressed (too many fumbles.)

You completely missed the point, again. How common.
My thread was about the Jets winning as a team.not about Zach Wilson. As it should fucking be.
And by the way, we watch every game and every play. Not just dwelling on Zach performance which already gets discussed at nausea on over 500 fucking post thanks to a few like you that want to reminds us no matter what the thread subject is about. As if we have not noticed that. Win or loose that is the only element you guys keep bringing up. At the least your criticism of Zach is mostly fair, and I have said that, unlike some of the others with idiotic comparisons to Zackenberg, calling him an idiot, not smart, is totally pull out of your ass garbage and show no knowledge of his talent and short comings. .

Zach's #1s at the end of 2021 were Jamison Crowder and Keelan Cole. Who's kidding who?
