Saleh said Zach will remain the starter for the rest of the year. Keyword “year”. Saleh nor JD have mentioned Wilson as their FQB or long-term guy for the organization over the past few days. Saleh was being honest about Mike White. I believe they will begin to practice with MW slowly getting more and more reps, and Strev being given QB run option packages with Carter/Robinson, Berrios and Jeff Smith. I think Saleh/MLF will try this late this season and if it proves successful, JD will go all defense next year, with maybe one or two OL additions (free agency/draft). This will set up a monster defensive front coupled with one of the best duos in the NFL secondary. They will make Zach, MW, and a potential another QB (drafted or signed) to compete for Qb 1/2. If Mike White wins, I think they will couple him with Strev packages similar to Taysom Hill and the Saints. Saleh/JD have already switched their focus to next year. They know Zach must be given this year, and they know he’s not good enough either. Saleh has overachieved with the strong start, and the blame will only come down on Zach, and there’s zero chance he rebounds. Too young, too raw, just not ready. The grownups in the org know this, the likelihood is a longshot. Thoughts?
I think White was made no.2 so they could justify Zach Wilson to guys like Elijah Moore who played better with Flacco I think Streveler was just pulled up from the practice squad as a reward for his efforts in practice. He probably made more $$$ for being inactive last week than he has all season
When it comes to the Woody, always follow the money. Every single move the yes men make is money driven...it's who they are.,
Man would that be exciting. Ignore trying to build up a young QB like we did from 2011-2020 and go all defense.
My opinion is the same people that thought Zach was a top 5 prospect think Strevler is a qualified NFL QB for beating shoe salesmen in the 4th quarter of preseason games.
My Opinion is that people love to ambiguously create strawman arguments to justify a point that never needed justification... So what does this mean? That there are more than 2 assholes on the internet with opinions who think their opinions actually matter... lol
This is the time to build a strong defense with so many young and unproven QBs in the league, and Brady/Rodgers aging out.
I like Streveler for his ability to win a championship in the CFL, his humbleness, hard work and his moxie. I hoped ZW would be decent but I preferred to trade the pick. It would have sucked last year but we'd have Jimmy G this year most likely, plus the wealth we would have gained by cashing in the number 2 pick.
If Zach sucks and we want to focus on building the roster, get Minshew next offseason. He's Garoppolo but younger and cheaper.
I still think it's because with the state of the Jets' O-line, Flacco isn't even fast enough to complete a three-step drop before he'd be destroyed, so what's the point of even having him practice.
