Please read, I am not sure why I took you off ignore just relishing in your chance to piss on Zach. I said throwaways.

You are blind and ignorant if you can't see his talent but you have an agenda. We will see how Zach's career goes but he is far from a finished product and people expecting him to be are ignorant.

Zach sucks bad. I see what I see on Sundays, and I’ve been watching football for three decades. He is worse than Darnold right now. That’s hard to do.

Darnold can atleast throw a TD pass while running like a headless chicken around the pocket like he did to Berrios that one time.

Wilson can’t even do that. He just has a pretty release. Everything else is off.

I’m starting to hate the people who say that Zach is so talented. In a league were only the most talented 1% of people play, talent isn’t what sets you apart. Your brain does. So far I have not seen anything to suggest that Zach can make it in this league because he’s shown he’s dense as a rock when it comes to processing info. I hope he can knock it off but as time goes on I don’t see much of a change.

You're using tiny sample sizes to say Burrow and Herbert have been bad and tiny sample sizes to say Zach has been good. You give Zach hypothetical extra TDs but don't do the same for Burrow and Herbert when I'm sure they've had completed passes come up just short of the endzone as well. You factor throwaways into Zach's numbers but don't do the same for Burrow and Herbert. You think they never throw the ball away? It's a crime against statistics.

You say other people only care about stats and then pick and choose the tiniest sample size stats and molest them against all logic to make a point.

Burrow is 6th in the NFL in QB rating this year. Herbert is 15th. Zach is 34th.

Are stats taken from large sample sizes or small ones more accurate? How would you feel about a political poll that polled 10 people vs. one that polled 1,000?

Consistency is what separates the good QB's from the great QB's. The franchise QB's to journeyman QB's. Zach had some great plays on Sunday. I would say they were more impressive than any QB they have had in a long time. However, he also had some terrible plays that felt similar to Mark Sanchez or Sam Darnold at their worst. Not a good thing.

Everyone is talking about the 3 interceptions. I don't care about that. The second one was clearly an accident, but cannot happen in professional football. The third one was desperate and completely unnecessary.

The first one? Completely UNACCEPTABLE. The worst of the day. The score is 10-3. All Jets. It's 3rd and 2. Worst you should do is take a sack and punt. I don't love the play call on that play, but Zach's decision was terrible and the exact thing Belichick was banking on the Jets doing. It fed right into their hands. Everyone is talking about the pick-6 being called back changing momentum. I disagree. Without Zach's terrible play, that situation does not even happen. It is likely 10-3 at halftime. Jets D would still have momentum and I highly doubt that easy first drive of the 3rd quarter happens for the Patriots.

Back to the play call though: run the ball. You likely get the 2 yards. If not, they are forced to use a timeout and you pin them deep.

Zach has gotten most of the blame for the loss, but really most of the team was disappointing. If I had to pinpoint one play that killed the game, it was Zach's first INT. Awful.

Having said all of that, Zach still has a bright future. All the negativity thrown towards him this week has been embarrassing. I get fans want to win and have been patient a long time, but give the kid a break. He will be fine. He wanted to win more than any of us did. That ended up being a curse more than a blessing though. He tried to do too much. Not sure how you coach that out of him, but Saleh and his staff need to find a way.

And yet, Flacco has a lower sack rate and a lower interception rate than Zach, this year.

Agreed, except for the bad call. Zach needs to tuck and run to the left or throw to the slant.

He keeps backpedaling into the pressure. He causes most of it. He’s still a college QB under pressure. This won’t change this season. He’ll need to work on it next season. And now our talented team needs to wait on it.

And yes, MLF will have to run the ball from here. There’s much he can do with this kid in Year 2.

You’re right, I blame MLF for not writing the game plan in crayon instead of expecting mildly competent QB play.

Maybe if he had made just the slightest attempt at establishing the run, Zach wouldn't have put the ball in the air 41 times. Obviously he has very little faith in any RB not named Hall or Carter. Running the ball 15 times is just plain stupid when you have backs on the roster that can get yards. Your OL excels in run blocking but sucks at pass pro yet MLF got pass happy and put a kid QB out front when clearly he wasn't ready. That MLF didn't or couldn't understand that speaks volumes. Good thing he got connections..

Again, that's an almost meaningless stat. If I have PKT of:

    - 3.0 sec
    - 2.5 sec
    - 1.0 sec

It averages out to just under 2.20 seconds. Not bad. But that 1.0 is a killer. IOW, just because the AVG is okay, doesn't mean there wasn't a number of really bad times in there.

our OL is just fine at pass protection. Our QB sucks at executing a basic pass. Keep passing blame all you want, Fire all the coaches, blame the O…. Anything but admit the obvious. I’d call 41 pass plays too with receivers running around wide open all day. Here’s a fun stat-when Zach goes “off platform”, you know that fucking ridiculous phrase that every Zach fan was beating off to all the time because he’s so talented “off platform”…..yeah when he goes off platform he’s 3 for 31 on the season. So not only is he too stupid to execute the most basic of playcalls with open receivers, he’s too stupid to find a receiver when he’s running around like an idiot too. The kid is exactly who he was from day one. No mental improvement, no footwork improvement, no accuracy improvement. Nothing. He’s a dipshit with Hackenburg’s accuracy Sanchez’s brain.

After Pitts game everyone was happy with Zach's performance, it was not revisionist history. One of the picks also went through the guys hands and second was because Moore bailed on the route. This was not a bad game, especially considering he was coming after missing preseason, joint practices, etc. Also it was rated well by PFF, and he led to the win in the 4th. Most of the people were happy with his performance when it happened. Average is fair assessment for Pitt game, not too many people would have disagreed at the time.

For one, they have stats like that if you check out some sites and I’m sure he’s near the bottom of the league.

Secondly, that’s all baked in. What do you want to do? Remove all of Wilson’s throwaways but leave all of the other quarterbacks in their stats and compare? He’s not the only quarterback that end up facing pressure or throwing the ball away so this argument is getting old.

Just like the lunatics here trying to say he was good the first three quarters versus Pittsburgh because he threw the ball away a bunch when he couldn’t read the blitz and adjust the protection or throw to a hot read.

Oh my lord….so now we’re going to cherry pick by throwing out throwaways???

    Jesus when does it end?

all QBs throw the ball away…all QBs deal with drops….man alive this is ridiculous.

His completion rate is mid 50% and among the worst in the league. Period.

it’s a problem…he’s inaccurate and he misses too many throws

how many excuses do we have to make?

    Unbelievable

over a short period sure stats may be wonky. Over a larger sample size they tend to reflect reality. So when do we say yeah that’s about what he is? So far we have 18 games…at first there was some BS about well he’s still technically in his rookie year because it’s only 18 games and yah right…he’s had a full offseason so not buying that excuse. We also had the bad OL excuse which was more legitimate ok but other QBs also have bad OLs…then it was drops…uhm…I’d bet half the drops are because he put the ball too high or too low or behind the receiver so yeah not really buying the drops excuse. So when is the sample size large enough? 2 years? 3? 5?

but now, trying to cherry pick out throwaways…when half of them are also because he couldn’t find the open guy or held the ball too long because he ran backwards for 15 yards….come on man…

I just don’t understand the excuses people keep making….

I WANT him to succeed…I hope he lights it up the rest of the way. But I also see what I see, and that’s a QB who is among the bottom of the league in QB rating, completion rate, yards per game, etc. he’s not been good. I cringed when he threw off his back foot with a floater, then he did the same shit AGAIN! Man I was like what the fuck are you doing? He should be better than that.

I hope he gets better, but we can’t sugarcoat and keep making excuses for him

as to Burrow not being good last night…totally agree there…but hey you know what, Burrow has played MUCH better and took his team to the Super Bowl and it wasn’t with 120 yard games. We can objectively look at Burrow and say yeah he had a shit game but you know what, it was an aberration because most other games he’s been MUCH better. Until Zach does some of that, he won’t get that benefit of the doubt. And by the way, Burrow had a piss poor shit OL his first year too…he looked MUCH better than Zach ever did….so not sure that Burrow is a good argument to bring up…

Any OC that would call 41 passes with Zach at QB should find another line of work. Zach will never be Burrow, Hebert, Mahomes or Allen. I'm not real sure Zach's learning curve will ever flatten out as he's not being held accountable for all his screw ups. Make no mistake, I'm not a Zach fan but I'm not a MLF fan either.

It was a mistake for MLF to dial up that many passes for Zach at this point in his career. Just too much for the shaky Kid Qb to handle especially at home playing against a living legend in BB. What is MLF's problem with the RB's on the roster might be a good question for you to ask...

Agreed that Burrow is not a good comparison, but 3 picks is an aberration for Zach too. I am expecting a much better performance against the Bills.

Yes he’s been better with the picks until this week, but he threw multiple picks against NE last year too…

I just don’t understand the blind excuse making we are seeing….is he a finished product? No clearly not. He has some physical talent and has made some great throws for sure…but shit after 18 games we’ve STILL not seen him have a great game. Still! He has had flashes yes. Some great throws. A great 4th quarter at Pitt. What else?

his stats say he’s still just as inaccurate as he’s ever been. We got him better weapons. He can’t find them. We got him a better defense and to his credit he rode that D and Breece Hall to three huge wins at three TOUGH places to win at Pitt, GB and Den. I give him lots of kudos for that. Those places have been rough for us. HUGE.

but he did not win those games. He just didn’t lose them. And for the second overall pick and a guy who is hoped to be our franchise QB, he’s not even close. He’s been bottom of the league.

I’m a huge Jets fan…I WANT him to succeed. I’m just not seeing it, and the only thing people can point to is some eye test stuff and cherry pick stats…shoot here’s an idea…why don’t we throw out all the drops and all the throw away and all the drop backs where he was pressured and THEN let’s see what his completion rate is? I bet THAT rate would be amazing!

    unbelievable .
