Why do you think Mike White is #2 now and Streveler has been promoted from practice squad? The sharks are circling - Zach knows it. He needs to play better or he will be benched. What else you want the coach to do? Benching him now would be premature and I am not sure is in team's best interest. If he keeps this bad play going though, it will be a different story. But I don't really see what else Saleh can do here.

I don't think it's likely that Minshew is a top 10 Super Bowl-winning QB, but I think he's more likely to do it than Zach is.

Saleh already knows Zach will hurt himself with this kind of play and is already positioning the Qb2 he wants to take us to the playoffs. Far out theory, but I think they already see Zach won’t cut it, and it’s matter of time he hurts himself with this scrambling play and or…

which i think is the real culprit. Zach aint ready to take the NFL hits in the pocket consistently.

Time to bring Geno Smith home. We’ll sign Darnold as his back up

And then sign Mark Sanchez to be the QB Coach.

This is the crux. Over the long run the stats will be a fairly accurate indicator, but there's been too many variables in his 18 games played to draw and firm conclusions IMO.

I do agree that his continued inconsistency with accuracy - for whatever reasons - are a concern. And his tendency to bail from the pocket too soon sometimes is an issue, although I'm more concerned about him running backwards and often finding no one to throw to - he'd be better off rolling out laterally, or at least not so deep and taking his best shot or tossing it into the stands. This strikes me a bad habit that can be unlearned, but it needs to be fixed. That said, it's a habit he picked up because the OL provides inconsistent - at best - pass pro. As I pointed out in several posts, just because the OL provides a good pocket sometimes doesn't mean the memory of the bad pockets is erased. There's a psychological experiment that was done where they applied inconsistent punishment and what happened was the subjects came to expect the punishment every time. This is what happened to Sam after the "Ghosts" game IMO.

There has been progress. I and others have highlighted the things he's improved upon since last year, but if you don't want to accept our opinions, just ask yourself: If Zach had not shown any improvement would Saleh and MLF have stuck with him? Would they not have told JD to get them a better option at QB?

Again, before the season, most people said they would be happy with 4-6 wins and seeing steady improvement from Zach - "steady" meaning over the course of the whole season being better than he was at the beginning. I'd say we've exceeded goal #1, and we're still on track with #2.

Finally, there is really no better option if this team wants to be a consistent p.o. team and SB contender. They're not getting Lamar or anyone else of that caliber. Even if they could get Rodgers, he'd be hideously expensive, at high risk for injury (remember Favre?), and only be a short term answer. Who could they draft that would be a better prospect than Zach? And signing a journeyman QB doesn't provide any consistency. IMO if I were Douglas I'd replace LaFleur before I looked to replace Wilson.

Have you not been reading the myriad of threads on that already, or do you want everyone to gather together and sing kumbaya with you, agree stats are everything and ignore all the other factors as contributors. . Incidentally, last year most Miami fans wanted TUA replaced, stats be damned, couldn’t wait,. They added a smart HC , some talent, changed the playbook to fit Tua, and is a totally different QB in control of the offense. Light years ahead of last year.

I have a friend that is a big time team Wilson guy. I went back and found my eval of Zach that I sent him pre-draft. Tell me this isn’t spot on! Zach is still making the same mistakes ...

He can bring his color coded wristband play sheet along with him

Great idea, Zach could use it. But, the color coded wristbands might already be in Canton.

This is a good point. His escapability is really good. I think he’s terrified of throwing the ball over the middle of the field.

It's starting to sound like a 1970's sitcom; The Jet Bunch.

That's all for the confidence so he isn't going in feeling he's on pins and needles. But they gotta be tougher on him, bench him if he starts to get carried away with dumb throws

When you can find nothing to argue about in what he says, insult his haberdashery.

(In all fairness, clip-on or not, it is an ugly tie/shirt/jacket combo.)

That only works if the OL is actually providing protection.

I've been saying this since I watched Warner's analysis of the GB game. IDK if he would agree to it, but Woody ought to open the checkbook and write him a big check to come in as an OC/QB advisor.
