Might force Saleh to suit up Streveler.. Perish the thought..

White, Flacco or Strevler are not the answer either. Jets have some talent and they are being wasted with Wilson as the QB.

One of our members who was at the game, not Brooks said he missed two guys open for TDs downfield because he doesn’t see field well or is simply not going through reads fast enough.

We slammed jets for not having skilled players at position of importance, Joe goes out and signs and drafts skilled players and the QB still can’t move the team downfield by getting ball in their hands.

We can no longer say it’s lack of talent, the common denominator right now is the QB.

My only concern is that if you give Lafleur a good QB he will abandon the running game, he seems to not be able to keep a balance attack on offense.

This was mentioned in another thread... Is Zach Wilson too short to see the entire field? He's always missing wide open guys and most times he's not even looking in their direction. Hard to imagine any QB seeing wide open guys and choosing to throw into tight coverage instead..

It looks like they’re making moves at QB though. That’s a good thing? We’ll see…

Don't forget that after Wilson left Pete Carrol had an open competition for QB

Saleh and JD OTOH handed Zach the keys immediately!

All the talking heads I listened to on Sunday thought Drew Locke would beat out G Smith

Give credit to Geno for resurrecting a bad career after he stunk it up as a NY Jet

We have a murderous stretch of game ahead over next 7 games..I see maybe 3 wins over NE Jags and Lions but that's it

Its a silly question. He’s 6’2”. It’s not because of height if he doesn’t make the right read.

so why can't he see the field then? And why does he run backwards if its not to see over the line?

How do you conclude Streveler is not the answer without testing him?

I would say the same for Mike White.

If he had the same support that Zach get from the coaches and his apologists he would have gotten many more chances to prove himself.

He came into the league at the same time as our shaky starter.

Sometimes the HC's don't even know what they got--2 recent examples:

    1. Justin Herbert/Anthony Lynn --Tyrod Taylor gets the starting job on a bad Chargers team--gets injured and Herbert in his first game looks great taking KC into OT. Dumbass Lynn after the game commits to keeping Taylor as starter by the argument "did we win"? Fired after season--didn't know what he had in Herbert plus didn't accept data.

    2. Kenny Picket/Tomlin. First I think Tomlin is amazing so its that much harder to understand how he thought Trubisky should start the first several games this season. It was obvious as soon as Pickett came in his first game, after halftime, that he was the dude.

Point is give the guys you have on the roster a shot in the game--for whatever reason there are decent coaches who just don't know what they got.

Its about throwing with conviction and trusting his decision off the snap. I also think he tries too much to get chunk plays. There were a few times yesterday where the right play was open, but he wasn’t on the right progression. His first INT he seemingly wasn’t looking at the drag until it was too late, then he threw it high.

The RPO pass helps him because he can read that LB off the snap and decide to hit the guy behind him if he doesn’t hand it off. These are the same things the Dolphins do with Tua to help him see the field.

He’s still learning here, so he has to known game situations, and get better at getting to the right guy quicker. And TAKE THE CHECKDOWNS.

Check all of his throws, he’s throwing over the middle and seams. It’s not because he’s short. He has to learn to see another day on some of these plays and take that little dump off.

Personally, I do not think White is the answer. He has been simply terrible outside of the one hero game and I do not see the physical tools there.

Streveler is the wildcard. He sure showed out in pre-season. It would be very difficult to go from practice squad to NFL starter, but he looks like he has tools.

The way I look at it, if we still had Breece, maybe White could be next man up if we bench Zach, but if we want a QB who can make plays, I would take my chances with Streveler.

Zach is obviously getting the start next week, which is as it should be, but he needs a short leash if he does not play well.

But, lets get real here, the Pats game was stolen from us by that dubious roughing call. Had that call not been made, Zach would have game managed us to the W and that would have been 5 straight for him.

The issue is identifying the vet qb. If I’m JD I’m keeping tabs on Tennessee and seeing if tannehill shakes loose next year.

I think we’re going to see White and Strevler next week.

Nope. You're going to get more Zach. The Legend will be on standby and Strev back to purgatory. Zach puts another 40 passes in the air and Carter/Robinson will pound the left side of the Bills line. MLF got this in the bag. :)

It's a good thing we played White the first three games of the season so we could find out if he is any good.

Mike White sucks. Zach may need to hit the pine at some point this season but if we're replacing him with Mike White we aren't winning games and we are no closer to finding a QB.
