He's starting to look a bit skittish. He's been hit ALOT during his short career and I think its gotten into the back of his mind not to take any chances of getting hit hard. David Carr syndrome starting to set in??
Zach needs a QB coach, if they expect him to be anything more than he is now. Right now, it seems Calabrese just tells him, don't make critical mistakes, & keep doing what you're doing.
One of the differences between Parcells, Belichik and the current Jet's FO/CS is that both of the former would ship JFM out of town by the trading deadline to send a message to the team. First mistake is on us and we make sure to tell you about our mistake so you understand what it was. Second mistake is on you. Third mistake is on your next team because if you didn't learn from our mistake you're never going to learn.
only thing JFM did was lower himself just a little but he was so close to the QB when he released it I don't know how you tell him to stop. What he could have done rather than leaning down is he could have tried to pull up like Q does a lot.
I'm actually surprised we have a lead, let's hope the 2nd half better Jets come out to play! LoL now we're blaming the QB coach!!! It's Sanchez all over again, Bottom line is this, he was drafted 2nd overall, Mechanic's shouldn't be a issue
My goodness, even Boomer buying into this bullshit; "why is Mac Jones still in this football game" referring to the Mosley hit. Put on the fucking skirts at this point.
He has a ridiculous history...remember last year the contract signing during the season? He then goes on a 6 game disappearing act...only to be fueled by an away game family game where he received 50 tickets for family and friends...and had a monster game....these are all facts. This year he comes back and is having a pretty damn good year except its not good enough....he seems to not understand that a pressure isnt nailing a qb 3 seconds after he releases the ball.
that really has been the difference minus JFM bonehead play between total dominance and a 4 point halftime lead...3rd down has been very poor.
It is an issue, when he's under pressure. When someone keeps making the same mistakes, he needs to be coached up. In Zach's case, it looks like he's receiving no coaching.
I disagree. Parcells and Belichick both won Super Bowls with the philosophy that you just keep hitting the other team's quarterback as much as you can (regardless of penalties or big plays that result) and eventually that quarterback won't want to play in the fourth quarter.
I remember an article from years ago where Penny said he wanted to come back to the NFL when his kids were out of high school.
He may be getting perfectly sound coaching but just can't break the bad habits when he gets put under real pressure.
