Two big things to keep an eye out for the pats on the injury front are C - David Andrews who is in conc protocol and hasn't cleared it yet S- Kyle Dugger
I have the absolute worst feeling about this game. Jets will be without their best offensive lineman and their best running back. Patriots are coming off a humiliating defeat. I can totally envision Belichick scheming up something to make Zach look like a chump. Maybe it's just all the years of watching the Jets be the nail to the Patriots hammer, but this feels like a disappointing loss coming up. Pats 27 Jets 13
Let's be real... beating the Bills would be way better. Don't get me wrong... a win over the Pats would be fantastic... but emotions aside... beating the Bills would do more to validate the progress of this team in a pure football sense.
I would assume Ogbuehi since he came in for AVT. Hopefully Fant or Mitchell can return soon too. It is definitely a huge loss without AVT, but I think the O-line can still function and be productive too. I feel the opposite. It is time for the Jets to beat down the Patriots!
Jets might be able to sweep the Pats the way things are lining up. Hopefully no further major injuries. Trying to remember the last time that happened. 1998 perhaps?
2000 Jets rally, down 19-7 on monday night football with 2 touchdown passes to Wayne Chrebet in the 4th quarter to win 20-19 Jets dominate at Foxboro 34-17 to move to 5-1. Victor Green Pick 6 and Curtis Martin 3 touchdowns -- it was back before New England had any fans
Good call I forgot about 2000 That was actually a fun season that just ended really crappy. The Monday night game I remember, cause Chrebet also made a great late game catch against Keyshawn and the Bucs from Curtis Martin in Tampa around that same time. And of course the legendary Phins game. What a season.
Certainly I am disappointed with the injuries on offense. But the defense and special teams are relatively whole. Perhaps the defense can do a good job and never let the game get out of hand. Meanwhile, although disappointed with injuries, I want to see them put the offense on ZW shoulders. This has to happen at some point, he wasn't drafted to pass 15 times per game. Why not in this game? Yes, they still might have a fine running game, but Lets open it up and see what happens. All kinds of opportunities here, Can Mims show something, will Moore do something, will Berrios surprise, will garret wilson break out, etc. etc. No one has been a jets fan longer than me, watching football since the early 50's, and I am ready for offensive football as well as wins.
It’s up to the Jets to keep playing it tight on defense and to not have a game plan that is reliant on ZW to play well. That and Breece Hall have been what made this win streak happen. Now the Jets need to keep the train going. Run the ball well and stop the Pat’s rushing attack and we’ll have 5 in a row headed into the Bill’s game and then the bye to think things through.
I felt like this before I watched them on MNF. Chicago has a very good D and is ranked 8th in pressure while being ranked 32nd in blitzing. The last 2-3 games we’ve been able to get after the QB without sending more than 4. There’s no reason that can’t be the same this weekend. David Andrews is also currently in concussion protocol and hasn’t been cleared yet. Mac Jones is absolutely not 100% healthy. They wanted him to get surgery on the ankle to come back in 3-4 weeks. He came back in 3 without surgery because he felt his job was on the line with zappe fever. If we can stop their run game, force mac into 3rd and long, and limit our mistakes (Zach TOs / penalties) there is no way we don’t beat the fuck out of them like Chicago just did. We are the better team and more talented for sure. The only difference is BB — who doesn’t have Tommy Boy anymore. These aren’t the Pats of old. Will Parks tweeted last Sunday about how they remember the pats score from last year and how BB calling go routes up 40. Parks wasn’t even on the roster last year and addressed this. Ulbrich just said something along the same lines. This defense is going to come out like a bat out of hell. I didn’t expect anything vs Green Bay but Sunday— I expect domination on the defensive side of the ball. Those boys on D are going to be buzzing. The Jets are coming to kick some Patriot ass.
No good beating the bills if we lost to cheaty bill first. Edit shoulda kept reading before posting lol
The problem with putting it in Zach hands early is the injuries on the o-line. We don't want Judon to kill the poor kid.
Judon did injure Zach! Zach never saw him coming either. Blindsided tackle which resulted in his injury for a few weeks, very interesting. Don't remember if he was in shotgun or behind center though. I think he'll be more aware this time around.
Jets are 5 and 2. Pats are 3 and 4. They play in our house. I suspect every season ticket holder will not be selling their seats and will be in their seats screaming like banshees heavy duty! 12th man baby!!! Our Defense is dangerous for those who underestimate them. Offense don't do anything silly. Play hard 4 Qtrs. F*ck them cheatin bastids. My only concern is Bellcheck, the team not so much. Lookiing forward to a stellar tailgate. Met life will be ROARING. CAN'T WAIT!!!
