Amusing how some of you turn to insults when you’ve got nothing worthwhile to rebut with.

I'm not saying no doubt. Until he has that "break out" game there will be some doubt. But on the flip side why do people have no doubt he's a bust? Like you, I've been waiting decades for the next Namath, and don't have a lot of patience either, and I'm not saying Zach is that guy, but he's got the physical tools to be him, and the other things can be acquired by playing and/or studying...as long as he has a decent supporting cast. He didn't have that supporting cast last year by any stretch. This year he's gotten to play 4 games with a much improved cast, but still one that has holes in the form of inexperience and some losses by injury. Still he's led them to 4 wins, 3 on the road in tough environments. The team seems to rally around him when things get tough, which is something that can't really be taught IMO.

So, yeah, things left to prove? Sure. But I think there's lot to have some optimism about with him.

At this point it's got to be RBBC, I'm okay with a 1-year prove it deal for a guy that was a solid starter, but I would still be elevating Bam Knight at some point before some team steals him for a November run.

Well I feel like I've given ample reasons for my belief that he'll work out well, as well as solid reasons for many of his struggles which I believe he's working through. Everyone wanted to see progress from him this year. Is he not progressing? Now the goal posts have moved and everyone wants to see him suddenly become elite even though he's only just played his 17th pro game and only 4 of those were with a decent supporting cast (which has been steadily reduced by injury each week). The point is that he should've proven at least that he's dedicated to improving, and that he still has a high ceiling. OTOH, I've seen nothing shown that he possesses anything "fatal" that would prevent him from becoming a FQB.

You made a statement that was false. I asked you to prove it. You move the goalposts while not proving the original claim. I call you on it. You claim victory and call me "Bud." I think you deserved the response you got from me. Go ahead and get the last world in. I'm done.

Actually I (the OP) said we should stop questioning JDs abilities, especially concerning selecting ZW. Meaning, given all of Douglas's other great moves, maybe he actually knows more about selecting a QB than any of us. Feel free to continue questioning him, or Zach for that matter.

You are correct.... I brainfarted meaning playing time.

Anyway, some texts with a good friend of mine today (die hard JAGS fans that had season tix for a long time), asking about how he looks after injury
"He looks great, you guys got a good player for peanuts!" "I expect him to run for 80, get 30 on screens and score 3 tds vs the JAGS this year, and Ettiene will run for 200 and fumble 3 times" :D

Accuracy. He hasn’t improved in this regard, even on a fair amount of his completions.

He struggles to hit open guys in stride which is an accuracy thing but still annoying.

Hasn’t had a big game start to finish. I understand they’re winning, but they’re doing it with defense and an imbalanced offensive attack. He’d put a lot of people at ease by showing he’s capable of carrying the team to a win. He hasn’t had to and I’m anxious to see what he can do when he has too, because it will happen.

Saying we shouldn’t questing JD’s selections, whether it’s the QB or otherwise, is pretty far out there. He’s made some bad picks.

I love what he’s done with the team and I supported his vision from the start. I’m trying as best I can to do it with my eyes wide open.

People who have "no doubt" about *anything* are generally not very thoughtful or smart. Human beings are imperfect, our knowledge is imperfect, our reasoning is imperfect and the future is always unknown. Whether it's Zach Wilson, the Jets or anything else, we can all make educated guesses about things and have variable degrees of confidence in these guesses based on what (we think) we know, but that degree of confidence should never reach "no doubt" among anyone with even marginal intelligence.

He has 1 touchdown pass this entire season.

Joe Flacco beat that in under 1 minute with the same offense earlier this year. And I think Joe Flacco is washed up :D

CC, while I am back on the fence, I think he showed in the Pitt game ehat he is capable of. The problem is pressure, he is the worst QB in the league and it shows how he handles it. Anyway, lets hope the addition of Mr. R will help keep the G&P viable so that Mr. W will not have to face many many blitzes....

NFL blocking? We all might be off the fence if Zach had that consistently.

Just as an aside, it's kinda indicative of Zach's importance to the team, that almost every thread, no matter what topic, at some point becomes a debate about Zach. So, let's all hope that Zach has a breakout game soon, so that Brook! doesn't eventually merge all threads into an enormous Zach thread;)

I love this kid. He is no Breece Hall but he is a very good Running Back. Do we know if he is playing Sunday?

Actually, he's only a RFA next year, so the Jets can retain him if they want. Whether they do or not will depend upon how he performs, how much he wants, and what they think of Zonovan Knight. Hall, Robinson and Carter would be an amazing RB corps, but a bit of overkill. I don't want to be a ground and pound team. I want the Jets to be a modern offense. One that can run the ball, one that runs it enough to keep opposing defenses off balance, one that can score from anywhere on the field with the run, but one who passes more than it runs.

I love the move in hindsight, but I didn't think he needed to trade for a RB. I'm no fan of Ty Johnson, but he's on the team for a reason, and they have Zonovan Knight on the PS, and I think he has a lot of potential. RB is the easiest position in the NFL for a rookie to come in and play well. I truly figured that they would either elevate Knight to the roster or re-sign Coleman. I didn't think that JD would want to trade future draft picks, but am pleasantly surprised that he did. I like that he isn't predictable and is aggressive when the right opportunity presents itself.

A 5th round pick for James Robinson is nothing.

They essentially swapped Blake Cashman for James Robinson. Sounds good to me!
