Before the season: Hated Douglas, okay with LeFleur, undecided to pessimistic on Zach, undecided to pessimistic on Salah, and hated Ulbrich

After 7 weeks: Undecided on Douglas, okay with LaFleur, undecided to pessimistic on Zach, undecided on Salah, and undecided on Ulbrich

Before the season: Like Douglas, Neutral on Zach, Neutral on Saleh, Down on Ulbrich, Like LaFleur

Now: Extend Douglas, Down on Zach, Like Saleh, Neutral on Ulbrich, Like LaFleur

I know some of my stances aren't popular but hey, it would be boring if everyone thought the same way, right?

Pretty much my take. Always high on Douglas, now higher than ever. I want him to be the GM for the next 15 years.
Like Saleh, Love Boyer, neutral on MLF, I think I’m neutral to positive on Ulbrich, and neutral to slightly down on Zach. But I do believe I’m going to be very, very high with Zach by season end,

Actually my opinion of JD hasn't changed much. Both of the key injuries right now are guys that he traded up for and so their injuries are even more impactful.

Good GM's can find players in the draft without cherry-picking.

Before the season- high on JD and Saleh, optimistic on MLF, skeptical of Ulbrich and optimistic on Zach

Now Still high on JD and Saleh, mediocre on MLF (playing great complimentary football) Ulbrich is winning me over.
I am still optimistic on Zach.

Disagree completely. Their injuries are more impactful because Both players are on their way to be perennial pro bowlers, not because he traded up. Moving up for both players was simply brilliant. Difference between a good GM and a great one.

Before the season: High on Douglas; Positive on Saleh; leaning positive on MLF; doubtful on Ulbrich; high on Zach.

Now: Convinced Douglas is the best GM we've had since Ewbank; high on Saleh; neutral to positive on MLF; trending up on Ulbrich; still high on Zach.

EDIT: And pleasantly shocked that we're 5-2, and now believe there's a good chance of getting into the playoffs.

Good thread Brook. My opinions haven't really changed since last year-- optimistic about the GM and Saleh and his staff; highly skeptical of Zach (realizing that you have to give him this season to show growth, but not optimistic he's "the guy"); and disgusted with the ownership. Pleasantly surprised at where we are at 5-2, how good the crop of youngsters turned out to be, and how solid the locker-room culture has become.

Before the year: High on JD, Undecided but confident in Wilson, undecided but confident in MLF. Low on Saleh and Ulbrich

Now: Even higher on JD, still undecided on Zach but maybe slightly less confident since he hasn’t made a 2nd year leap yet. Still undecided and less confident in MLF. Still undecided on Saleh and Ulbrich but feeling more confident now.

Before the year: high on JD, neutral on Saleh, neutral on Zach, thinking we’d start 0-4 against the AFC North

now: way high on JD, positive on Saleh for the way he’s got this team believing and how he handles Moore by disciplining but not alienating or embarrassing the play, trending pretty down on Zach, and shocked we started 2-2 and even more shocked we’ve won at Pitt GB and Den

    Preseason:

    Douglas - Slight lean away
    Saleh - Neutral
    LaFleur - Slight lean away
    Ulbrich - Leaning away
    Wilson - Slight lean away
    Gardner - Slight lean away

    Today:

Douglas - Neutral (ZW to be the biggest thumb on the scale)
    Saleh - Slight lean towards
    LaFleur - Slight lean away
    Ulbrich - Slight lean away
    Wilson - Leaning farther away
    Gardner - Slight lean towards

I'd suggest that Brook bring this back after the Jets season is done for an update.

I loved JD before this season, and love him even more now. I loved Zach and still do. I was on the fence about Saleh, MLF, and Ulbrich. Ulbrich is winning me over. I like many things about Saleh, but if he's behind trying to make Zach into a game manager and continues to support MLF in being rigid and not adapting his scheme to fit Zach's talents, then I'll want both Saleh and MLF shot into the sun (literally). I was hopeful about MLF. He was too rigid and inconsistent last season, but did enough to give me some hope. As of right now, I want his ass shitcanned. I think he sucks and is in over his head. He can design some good trick plays, but is alienating players, his playcalling frequently sucks, he is forcing players to fit his scheme rather than adapting the scheme to their talents and misusing players. He needs to go before he alienates any more players or ruins Zach.
