Which would also eliminate the need to draft another high OT this coming offseason…

I forgot about the achilles. I like(d) Robinson but not if he is less shifty than before. And he was never fast or quick in general

I get why you’re concerned about the OL.

I don’t think the Jets are putting the wagon before the horse like you said by trading a 5th round pick for Robinson. They definitely needed to add a downhill runner to this offense and this did it for next to nothing.

Ty Johnson is not a good running back and throwing Bam Knight in there when the team is 5-2 is irresponsible. They also can’t be an injury away from having Ty Johnson and Bam Knight as the only 2 RBs on the team.

Compare this to dumb moves like signing slow Leveon Bell for big money. The GM matters and this is why the Jets are 5-2.

Mac was feeling the heat by then and was just throwing money at a big star to satisfy the fan base.

    Exactly.
I do not sense anybody on here is convinced with Zach Wilson but he has managed win so we can at least enjoy that.

Sorry, not gonna go quoting “he’s doing what the team is asking him to do” posts.

The original post I quoted said we should buy into Wilson because of JD’s track record.

There isn't a person on this site who has said that he is doing no wrong. However, from the media, to the expert analysts to the fans, there is ton of in-depth analysis available that point out there has been a good improvement from last year to this year. That's it. Particularly when confronted with a clean pocket, ability to protect the ball, ability to avoid heavy pressure, avoid interceptions, managing the game and the like. He has taken little baby steps in the right direction facing tough Ds. . What many of us are saying is simply that in and of itself, that is encouraging, and we believe he can continue to get better. Is he making mistakes, yes, plenty, no one is denying that, but people here are apparently expecting to see more of an Allen or Burrows or Mahomes style swing TDs at this stage. That is not the plan for him, that is not the offensive scheme we deploy. . We discussed that at nasea. He is also younger than the rest of them, with vast potential, just barely scratching the surface as far as jelling with this rookie team and rookie CS.
The big cry now is no TD passes, simply forgetting that two passes went long and one yard from a TD in both cases. If that's the case the discussion would be mute and people would find another reason to criticize Wilson.

Ok good, because that is not what I asked you to do. I asked you to find posts where someone said he can do no wrong.

On Zach, my concern has always been accuracy. But that aside, right now, he seems to be playing scared.
In some sense, because of Jets success, he's feeling extra pressure to not make mistakes. So, he's playing tight, & very focused on the D pressure coming his way. Several times last week, his checkdown was open, but he hesitated, then bailed, rather than just stepping up & passing. To me, it's on the CS to help build up his confidence, & let him play loose. Get him to play faster, think less. Have some fun. Go no-huddle now & then... etc.

`Well, then I don't understand your point at all. This move is not mutually exclusive or contradicting prioritizing OL. JD has gone all out with OL, Brown, for starters and three more acquisitions since then. We have two starters coming off IR after the buy. But the loss of our heart and soul offensively is a major blow and needed immediate reinforcement. The absolute best friend to the OL and the QB is a strong running game. The entire OL has said that. He is a strong runner that can compliment our young group to continue with a strong ground and pound game moving forward. Also, is not like starting OL are available at the drop of a hat. The 6 pick is meaningless at this point, and a hell of an investment telling this team we believe in you and believe we can win now. And if it turns into a fifth, even better, because it means it paid off more than expected. This move was nothing short of brilliant, for a young stud RB eager to prove his worth and future in this league. And has nothing to do with prioritizing one over the other. They are nothing but complimentary.

Figure of speech bud. People defend his play like there’s nothing to worry about. You can go find the posts if you’d like, I’ve already read them.
