FYI he tore his ACL week 16 last year vs us. Maybe the Jags feel like he lost something which is why they let him go so cheap. He didnt get a single carry the last game and the coach said he was dealing with knee soreness... The good news is that he was ready to go only 9 months after the injury so hopefully Breece will have the same good luck with the healing and rehab and be good to go for training camp.
That's a key point right there. Sounds like injury prone guy who is not 100% healthy even now. Wasn't in Jags long term plans. Let's hope he passes the physical. Worth a shot for a 6th round pick though, there is definitely an upside. Also, it will probably take at least a week to learn play book, so he can rest his knees a little bit before playing presumably next week. https://jaguarswire.usatoday.com/2022/10/24/james-robinson-injury-jaguars-knees/
I feel like this is a great consolidation gift after devastating loss of Breece. JD did good here, the price will probably be a 5th and that's okay for a rental. Robinson's rookie deal is ending after the season so he has all the motivation to play great to impress other teams to get a good contract next year, I don't think that the Jets will offer him one, we're good with Breece & Carter going forward. I also like how this shows the locker room that the front office is fully invested to be successful this season and not drown tools after bad injuries to key players and got them help immediately. JD actually did that to O-Line already earlier this season when the injuries started to add up.
If the price becomes a fifth rounder that actually should prove to be a better value than the sixth. A fifth or sixth from the draft is a crapshoot that the guy will even make it to the roster. Having to give up a fifth means you actually got performance value out of the trade.
We’ve agreed on plenty of things over the years (including Joe Douglas) but I can’t see how we should all be so sure of Wilson because of Douglas other work as GM. Like most other Jets fans I’ve been waiting decades for the answer at quarterback. Help me understand why I should have no doubt Wilson is it.
I wish there had been a clause that if he scores four TDs in the Super Bowl it becomes a fourth. Then I would hope it becomes a fourth.
i think we can say he has done a great job but hasn’t found the answer at QB yet. There isn’t anything wrong with that, it’s the toughest position to scout and draft. If it was easy everyone would have a FQB. Let’s hope ZW makes big strides this year. Or he might have to go to plan B
hard to believe, no James Robinson thread. coming back off of an achilles injury in 2021. lost his RB1 status to etienne for the jags and traded for a late round draft pick. decent runner coming off a devastating injury. Lam
Gives a shot to a player who has shown he can play in this league. A redemption song. Inspiration, determination et cet.
That's not my point though. Point Is, you can have all the RB's In the world but If you don't have good run/pass blockers, Is It really going to matter? I doubt that any team has been hit on the OL by injuries as badly as we have. Also, I definitely think Carter could handle that many touches but we also have Ty Johnson and Bam.. Just to play devils advocate here. Again, I love the move, especially at the cheap price... I would just feel better right now If we also made a move along the OL. That's my point.
