It feels as if the Jets are playing handicapped with Chad. What other QB out there has a chance against the New England defense?

The reality is, the Jets may improve across the board with free agents and trades but they aren't going anywhere with Chad, and it may be the reality that the next 4 seasons could be flushed down the drain looking for a QB to beat New England.

I know this really hurts to think about, but Belichick was a decent coach without the once in a lifetime Tom Brady, and the Jets/Mangini may be in that shadow for a long time without a lucky strike of their own.

Did you even watch the game. Pennington picked apart the Pats defenders all day until the garbage time interception. If we had any kind of strong inside runner for the redzone situations we would have scored a TD on one of those three FG drives. And by the way Chad already beat NE once this year so the whole premise of your quesiton is way off.

    WTF are you talking about?

Jets can't stop the run and they can't run the ball. Chad played great until late when things kind of got out of reach. There are tons of reasons we lost the game today, the play of the QB was not one of them.

Pennington was 2-1 in New England coming into that game. Does that answer your question???

If you place the blame on Pennington for this game, you are crazy. All he did was throw for 300 yards with no running game while playing from behind almost the whole game.

You cant find a Tom Brady anywhere he is a special QB were lucky to have a QB that doesnt lose us the game. Even Peyton Manning cant win a playoff game by himself. Its hard to find a QB that can help us win more games then Chad has, im sure when we get one Mangini will play them but until then Chad gives us the best chance to win games.

First, are you saying that the yards on the big play shouldn't be counted. He made a great read downfield and found a receiver 25 yards down the middle of the field that was open. Second, he really did play a great game. He picked apart the Pats defense all game until he got into the RZ. We need a good running back for those situations. Once he gets into the redzone his space to make a play is limited and it is near impossible to make a play in the redzone without a running game.

We need a run blocking offensive line player to open those holes

Yes, of course they do. Know how? The Jets beat Brady and the Patriots in Week 10. Fun fact: he's also beaten Peyton Manning and Drew Brees in the playoffs.

Chad Pennington played an outstanding game, and was done in by bad playcalling, a dead running game, and bad protection. You're talking about what you wanted to see today, not the way the players performed on the field.

Well, the Jets can't beat the Pats or go far in the playoffs relying just on Chad. Whether you like it or not, but he's no Brett Favre (in his prime). He can't just take over the game, as he can't make every throw there is. However, with some help from a dominating running back and a better defense, I'm pretty sure he can beat the Pats and many other teams. Although in that case (when you have a dominating D and RB), you don't really need a QB with an $18M signing bonus...

Chad was a one man army today. No team wins in the playoffs without a running game, period.

23-40, 300 yards, a TD. He did everything he knew how to win the game. The pick was in garbage time, and Coles cost Pennington a second TD.

Putting this on Chad is just plain stupid, he played a great game, espically in the 2nd half where they went shotgun and spread the Pats out. There are a lot of reasons why the Jets lost, Chad is NOT one of them.

The Jets are so far under the cap that Pennington's contract is really irrelevant right now and his salary is relatively low after the pay cut he took this year. I just don't see what he did wrong today. The lateral was not his fault and the pickwas a great play by Samuel. Other than that, throwing for 300 yards against that defense with no running game and no lead was an accomplishment. Pennington deserved a better fate today. He certainly comes up bigger in the playoffs then Peyton Manning, who had no excuse for another horrible playoff performance yesterday, at home, against an inferior opponent. If the Chiefs had an offense, he would be pulling out the golf clubs today, and he is considered the best QB in the NFL>

He did nothing wrong, he just didn't do enough... he couldn't without any running game.
