I don't like giving up picks or trading for a RB. We need the picks still for next year and I'd rather get rookies the reps needed for experience and evaluation than using picks on washed up veteran RBs that other teams don't need.
Since you and idf mention Johnson, it’s absolutely the move IMO. Too perfect, a 1 year rental who we can probably pick up for whatever we trade B. Hall for. God knows Cleveland could use the draft capital.
No reason to trade picks for a RB. Michael Carter can be #1, Knight and Johnson can split carries for #2… Hopefully either George Fant or Max Mitchell comes back from IR. Would be good to see Mitchell in particular get reps and continue to develop in his rookie season.
I think we'll be "OK" with Carter, Ty and Zonovan in the backfield... but none of these guys have the downfield vision, speed or cuts that Breece has. They can help move the chains... but Breece put points up on the board. And we are in dire need of some scoring...
I like Bam but how would this crop of RBs differ from last years at all? And that crop was so mediocre we traded up for an RB in the second. We need to make a trade. Day 3 pick for a problem NFL RB is unbelievably logical. At this point anyone saying they don’t want to trade picks for an RB is just repeating old tropes.
Gotta think Hunt could be had for a 4th. Browns won’t get that in a 2024 conditional once he leaves via FA next year. We’re 5-2 and 3rd in the conference. We should make this move if we can
Not only would Hunt help this year but it might even make sense to re-sign him. This is a serious injury. Breece likely won't be full strength for most of next year too Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
You don’t draft a RB in the top of the 2nd!!!! - Drafted RB does as well as expected changing opinions but gets injured You don’t trade for a RB!!! - Some people never learn
There's no way we are trading for Hunt. Book it. I do understand the apprehension though. We were able to hide Wilson by running Breece. Time for Zach to be more than a game manager.
Why give up a future player for a guy that will be here for half the season? It's not like we are a RB away from a super bowl.
I couldn’t get that to work. Jets traded with Jax for RB James Robinson. JD gave up a 6th, that could elevate to a 5th
We might just be a RB away from a winning season and a playoff appearance. I’ve seen 0 evidence suggesting the Jets don’t think they can win this year.
The trade deadline is a week from tomorrow. There's one game to evaluate where we stand at RB. That being said, I think the Jets roll with what they have.
