If Zach was awful today, then blame it on MLF for how he has Zach trying to play. I want MLF gone before Zach is ruined.
Did MLF script it up to throw over and behind receivers? Come on. He threw some really bad balls today that are 100% on him and no one else.
He also had some called back because of penalties, and was under a huge rush. Agreed that he needs to be more accurate, but 16/21/121 isn't shitty. He's won all 4 games he's been in. Yes, I want to see a 300+ yard game, but I'd prefer to see him continue to make progress while they win.
How about some perspective? We're 5-2 when many were predicting them to be 0-7, and yet what's the main discussion here? Zach Wilson sucks. SMH. After over a decade of losing football we finally have a winning team, and yet...Zach Wilson sucks. Rypien went 24/46/226 and a killer INT, is that what you want? Rypien threw deep several times and didn't complete any - is that what you want? After almost 60 years of waiting my patience is as thin as anyone's but jeezus! Posters were saying before the season "I hope they're competitive and we see steady improvement from Zach". Have some perspective.
Zach is not getting a chance to get into a rhythm due to the game plan and play calling. That's TOTALLY On MLF. Zach is being asked/forced to play in a way that is foreign to his nature, skillset, and experience. It's a piece of shit. I'd rather the Jets lose every game the rest of the season and Zach be allowed to play the way he knows and prove that he is our QB of the future and a FQB, than continue winning games ugly and Zach be ruined. IMO Zach is the future of the Jets much more than MLF or Saleh.
I know what Zach is capable of, and I know how MLF has been gameplanning. He doesn't give Zach easy throws at the beginning of the game to get him in a rhythm. Losing Moore, Davis, Hall, and AVT definitely hurt as well. Both can be true. Zach can have not played well, but a large portion of that can be due to the way MLF has been having him play, his game plans, and play calling. If you don't understand that, then you don't understand half as much about football as you think you do.
Zach doesn't need people to defend him. We all want him to succeed but he did some HS QB type stuff today, that has to go. Like, yesterday. We have all witnessed the potential and capabilities of this kid, we just need It to show more at this point. You can't have this kind of talent on offense and be sputtering every week at the most important position In football. Fortunately.. We are 5-2, early In the season, with a lot of football left to be played. I still got faith he will figure It out, but, the boneheaded throws and decisions have to go. We were extremely fortunate that his desperation spinna rooney fumble throw thing wasn't an actual fumble. I still think It should have been. Those type of things just can't happen. Along with some of those throws, It just wasn't professional football out of the kid. I still do believe he will get there though. I'm no 100 but I want to believe. So I will continue to do so until It's deemed impossible to do so. lol
I had a performance and was unable to watch it, or I would have, but as I thought you understand little about the game.
I didn't attack you and most people know that I am a Wilson supporter. You're getting your panties in a bunch because I was critical of his play today while you, who didn't watch a single snap, are blaming it on the OC. I guess I won't be invited to the football mensa email chain. Oh well.
"Get him in a rhythm"? Tell you what - just watch the first fifteen seconds of the game, then watch them again, then try to tell anyone (whether you believe you know more about football than they do or not) that Wilson was just fine in those three plays and the fault of the Jets offense lies in coaching.
Agreed on all counts. I've seen lots of Sanchez comparisons on here, but yesterday he reminded me of Geno, just dropping further and further back whenever the D came at him. Total deer in the headlights stuff. He's got great escapability but that's all he does, escape and turn a potential huge loss into a no gain but loss of down, rather than making a play. Incredibly lucky not to have a couple of TOs yesterday. That luck won't hold and I dread to think what the hoodie will do to him.
Jets are the first team to win consecutive games with less than 105 net passing yards since Tim Tebow’s Broncos. Who needs passing yards?
