    To answer 1 and 3..

The Jets have more talented receivers ahead of him. Moore, Wilson, and Davis are all better players. Berrios is a gadget guy, a solid slot, and plays special teams.

That leaves Jeff Smith, who is one of the better gunners in the league, again, here comes special teams.

That’s why Mims has been inactive.

If the run game gets going mims won’t see much action. I’d imagine a lot of 12 personnel amd mims isn’t being elevated to wr2 . He’ll be in some 4-5 wide sets. I’d expect him to see the snaps j Smith has currently been getting.

Mims might see some action in 12. He’s a willing run blocker and is quite good at it.

I'd send a deep ball to Mims in the first play of the game

1 wideout for special teams is enough. Smith should be inactive even when Moore isn't in the dog house

Smith's been running routes anyway including a crucial play before the half in Pittsburgh that was picked off and took points off the board.

Smith is a gunner and he’s one of the better gunners in the league. Making him inactive for the sake of only having one WR on special teams isn’t logical.

Both Smith & Moore ran terrible routes on that play. Moore jogged on, then quit his route, instead of running the defender out of the play. If Moore runs his defender out of the play, it’s more than like 1st and goal after that play.

Wasn't this Zach Wilson's fault in another thread?

Either way, Smith stinks but so does Mims. It's not April 2020 anymore. We can't keep calling Mims talented just because he was in college. He's been a total bust and 90% of it self-inflicted. I hope Mims tears it up, that would be an amazing solution to this problem but I have my doubts he'll even see the field more than 10-12 times.

Anyone that looked at the play can see that something went wrong with that route combination. There’s no way that MLF designed a play where Smith crosses directly into Moore’s deep curl.

Moore quit on his route and didn’t bring his defender and the safety into the end zone.

Both Kurt Warner and JT O'Sullivan crucified EM on that play.

As much as I'd love to see Mims catch a deep ball, I think the wiser course of action is for MLF to give Zach a series of quick, easy passes so that he and the offense gets in a rhythm immediately. Calling a long-developing play is just repeating the same kind of mistake that he's been making in every game this season except one.

I love the pure anarchy of it... just like the Sauce sack on Bridgewater.

Moore impatience might end up costing him plenty. Right desire, wrong way to go about it. MLF could be right or dead wrong, doesn’t matter, you don’t go about it the way he did it. Too bad, I like him a lot, hope they can remedy the situation. Mean time, great opportunity for Mims to be a contributor. Go Jets.

Yup, I was thinking of JT when I commented that.

Moore JOGGED that route and then cut it way short. No way an NFL OC designed a play to look like that

I think anyone expecting anything out of Mims is going to be sorely disappointed.

That was my initial reaction, too, but Mims is a good blocker. And as Michael Nania at jetsxfactor argues...
It's an interesting read, from a guy I'm growing to respect ----> https://jetsxfactor.com/2022/10/20/ny-jets-formula-success-broncos-defense/

I'd love to see Mims have a breakout game, but I'm not expecting it. However, if he gets downfield in the run game and levels a DB or two, I'll be ecstatic.
