More context on this situation. I think we all understand why Elijah is frustrated, his target share should be up there with GW's. However, having a temper tantrum in the middle of a 3 game winning streak is just beyond selfish and immature. Granted, he's 22 and like many have said, we all did dumb things when we were 22. My hope is some of the leaders in the locker room reach out to him and talk him off this ledge before this situation gets anymore out of hand. At this point, things can still be remedied, but I'm not sure how much longer that will remain the case.
The team was down quite a bit with Flacco back there. Defense was unsettled….early offense was lackluster. I’m sure Flacco likely has 2-3 times as much pass attempts as Zach due to circumstances.

exactly. So what Moore is saying is he wants the ball as much as he did when the team was losing and needed to throw 50 times a game as opposed to playing his role and winning.
I think it's pretty obvious. He is worried about getting the bag when his contract is up and he knows right now in this offense he just won't. He has the same agent as Deebo, Metcalf, and his boy AJ Brown-- All 3 were just paid. The only difference between those 3 and Elijah are 20k+ yards and 60 TDs.
You support a guy who wants to play with a quarterback that shouldn’t even be in the league because we had to throw the ball 50 times to even be in a game and your problem is with the quarterback who has managed the offense to three straight wins, and carried the team on his back for one of them. Just say that out loud. And the bigger thing at play here as you keep making up this notion that receivers don’t want to play with Wilson. That’s not a real thing.
Right it’s just weird because Brown specifically said (quote me if I’m wrong) was how mature Moore was, and how he looked up to him while at Ole Miss. So he should see and read the room. It’s not talent, and he only has a year and change of games. He has a ton of time to secure the bag. It’s a selfish mentality that people are legit baffled at where it’s coming from.
Had a good laugh this morning on ESPN Radio when Keyshawn said Moore is in the wrong + wants to reach out to him and try to fix the situation.
Ya--I'm concerned that this is the 2nd WR to express dissatisfaction and when people actually express it means there's probably someone feeling the same and not expressing it. I don't put it on Zach tho. I put it on management. IMO good management works to keep the whole team focused and considers workers/players sensitivities to avoid this situation. We surely have enough staff to have mitigated this in the bud IMO. I'm actually concerned its going to affect Zach cause I think he wants to please everyone and he'll look to Elijah in the wrong situation going forward. Hopefully ZW is getting advice from Aaron on how to handle this.
I don't see how they're meaningless. If anything being THAT upset about a 2-3 game sample size while your team is winning makes him look even worse. Also, arguably Elijah's best game of the year was with Zach under center (@PIT) so IMO this argument you're presenting isn't a good one. He had 3 catches on 4 targets for 53 yards (highest yardage of the season) vs Pittsburgh. If you want to believe that receptions and targets are more important than yards you could make a strong argument that either BAL or CIN was his best game of the year (5 catches, 7 targets, 49 yards and 4 catches, 9 targets, 49 yards respectively). You also have to take into context how these games have gone with Flacco and Zach. First 3 games, we were constantly down so we had to throw the ball more. The 3 since Zach's been back, it's either been a really tight game or we've had the lead. I don't want to make any grand, sweeping assumptions on Elijah's character because, again, he's 22 years old. I seriously hope he understands that he's made a mistake here, comes back to the team and apologizes for this outburst and this ends up being just a weird little footnote on what could turn out to be an awesome year for this team. We'll see soon enough.
It takes 2 to tango. Do you have any insight in how the teem responded to the Sunday tweet. Do you know if they have been trying to talk to Moore? I don't know anything about what happens behind the scenes, and most likely neither do you. Worker sensitivities? Every play in the game is a zero sum play. That means if the ball goes to someone, all the other players are denied the ball on that play. You can't satisfy all the players all the time. You can only prepare, execute and hopefully win. Something the jets have done quite well the last 3 games. Moore was on the field a whole lot. He was an integral part of the game, just not in the way he wanted to be.
i dont understand why the chiefs and packers would trade for moore. Both have drafted watson and sky moore in the 2nd rd. if either team made a move it would be for a more proven player.
I do. I think if he can come back to the team today/tomorrrow and express true remorse and contrition for this situation, I think the team would be willing to welcome him back with open arms. Check out the comments from everyone on the team yesterday in their pressers. They all understand that Elijah is a very talented guy and is important to this team. He's made a mistake, mistakes can be remedied. I think it's only a matter of time before the locker room turns on him but I don't think we're already at that point.
