Always irritates me that wheeler isn’t on the Mets still. The owners we shall not speak of really fucked that up. Dude is a stud. Feels like just yesterday they made him buy his own World Series tickets in 15

I really don't follow the Mets so can you tell me the circumstances of him leaving?

He was 11-8 with almost a 4 ERA in the NL. That's not great. He has pitched much better since joining the Phillies though.

They didn’t really pay him much though. 118/5 is a bargain — he’s a FA in 25 and only gonna be 35 y/o. Could see him getting that 3 for 100 type deal on a contender when he becomes a FA.

Wasn't he expendable due to the trade for Stoman?

That's probably how the owners felt. Unfortunate that Cohen didn't buy the team in 2019 before Wheelers contract came up. He was hurt in 2018 and then in 2019 set a record for himself in '19 for K's + IP

IIRC, they traded for Stroman in 2019 and then had 1 year left on his contract in 2020 for like a million or so with an option in 2021 for $18.9m.

Owners were just cheap. They just should have never went after Stro when you had the pitcher on the team already.

So I'm looking at the schedule for the ALCS. There's only one day off. No way you can start a guy 3 times unless you pitch him on 3 days rest and then 2 days of rest.

It blows my mind that the Mets lost to the Pads, with home field advantage no less. They look terrible so far. How the hell did they beat the Dodgers?!

4-2 now off back to back HRs by Drury and Bell.

    One name - Trent Grisham

dude was an all star against us. Carried that team in the WC round. Yu Darvish is also incredible vs us. Over the last 2-3 years every time he pitches it’s insane.
